Need I say more to prove the V20 is a much better phone or are you going to tell me it's too big? Here's what, tell me what your phone is, what its features are, that the V20 doesn't have, and why I should buy it over the V20, and I'll tell you what the V20 has that your phone doesn't and why the V20 is superior over your Samsung. Deal?

Anonymous, 26 Dec 2017Holy crap you are so dedicated to justifying your purchase ... moreI'm expressing my extreme satisfaction or should I say delight for a rare flagship product that is largely ignored and underrated that at its current price and specs/feature set, will not likely have any successor that is as feature packed and as long lasting in terms of usability and durability. So no, I'm not justifying my purchase as you put it. I am a very happy buyer delighted with the phone and so am enthusiastic recommending it to users who drop by here to make shopping comparisons. If you are not happy with me criticizing other phones, then you should not stay here. Go to your phone's forum and express your satisfaction there (unless you are secretly wanting to buy a v20 or are working with sales and marketing to drive people away from the V20 and convince them to buy another brand or 'upgrade' to newer models). People like you go gaga over the fastest and latest processor, super duper looking amoled displays (that actually don't last as long as ips displays) and the latest trendy, curvy, elongated 18:9 new fashion phone of the year, that you forget the true essence of a smartphone - an all in one device that should be used for anything and everything if possible, as long as possible, to make life easy and to save money by not upgrading every year: gps/compass/maps, radio, master remote that controls everything that you can use anytime, anywhere and always with you, has dedicated sd slot for all your storage needs (no problems with storage devouring 4k videos, lossless music, large raw photo files, office files, etc.) has removable battery for zero charging downtime, and costing only a third to half the cost of the newer models without those features. Now if those unique selling features have no use to you, then by all means, buy the latest disposable fashion oriented, flagship phone out there. Couldn't care less if all you do on your phone besides calling and texting is play games and post photos on Facebook. The V20 is not for you. Be happy because for your needs, you have a thousand other flagship choices. By the way, audio and video capabilities are not the ONLY thing that makes the V20 special. In fact, I didn't buy the V20 for those high level specs. It's actually the more practical, mundane, daily use features that made me buy it. The audio, photo and video prowess were just icing on the cake . The removable battery, the ir blaster, the dedicated slot sd card, FM radio, etc. are actually very worthy features however insignificant they may be to you. It is the presence of ALL, I repeat, ALL of those features in a SINGLE flagship phone product that makes the V20 truly unique. Even the newer LG models don't have some of those features, more so Samsung which is just a tired fashion statement phone brand that is hot today, but will be passe' next year with a new model launching. The V20 is not like that, mind you, because of the extensive features list, analog or otherwise. The V20 is a phone built to last a long, long time. If you change phones every year it won't matter. The V20 is not for you.

Rimac , 26 Dec 2017Yes, most, but not all and with a smaller screen. Yes but it's price is upwards of 40% less than a V20 too, and because the screen is smaller that means a higher PPI because you guys crave specs so much haha. And you get buy those "lg friends" accessories like the camera grip with has a built in extended battery, oh!

The G5 pretty much has all the bells and whistles that other v20 fanboy craves so much (removable battery, ir blaster, snapdragon 820, fm radio, dual SIM + sd slot for up to non-existant 2tb sd cards lol!) He could have bought at least three G5's for the price of two V20's, he'd be set for the next decade!

Anonymous, 26 Dec 2017Because both the LG G6 and LG V30 don't have the following ... moreHoly crap you are so dedicated to justifying your purchase as to even dismiss newer phones not being as good. It's funny because people like you probably thought quad HD or 2k screens were pointless and ate up battery and now you're using one.

Most people don't use built in IR blasters that's why they're taking them out. If i want to change the tv channel am I really going to unlock my phone, launch the remote control app, select tv, and then change the channel VS just picking up the tv remote and pushing the channel up button? And then you want to turn your air con off so you do all the steps again but need to switch it from tv to air con VS just picking up the air con remote and pushing the power button? Give me a break. It's only useful if your original remotes are lost or broken.

IPS vs OLED vs AMOLED whatever all have their pros and cons it's a matter of personal preference. If the V20 came with a AMOLED screen then you'd be preaching that AMOLED is the best, right? The V20's screen is average at best, in fact if you look at the tests the G4's screen is actually a little brighter. The secondary screen is a gimmick that makes the v20 the largest 5.7" screen phones on the market but let me guess thats a good thing because the bigger size makes it harder to lose right? Haha, I'm sure thats your arguement. There's no way your fingers are going to reach that secondary ticker screen with one handed use. Yes it's neat, but It's still a failed experiment.

The V20 is a good phone, and a great phone if you can utilize the video recording and DAC (funny you don't mention these) because that's what this phone excels at, but you just keep pointing out bells and whistles. Its important to note the V20 does not have wireless charging and does not have any kind of water resistance, two features most consumers will appreciate more than IR blasters any day. Also the second wide angle camera is too wide makes it practically useless as the effect is too much which is why they toned it down in the G6.

I get it, you've bought two so you're "All in" so to speak but I think people deserve more open minded opinions. The V20 wasn't super successful, even with the Note 7 fiasco which you thought would've helped the V20 even more, and since has completely fallen off the radar. It's a good phone and maybe a great phone for people like you but the best phone most certainly not.

You can buy two V20's and still have some change for the price of one LG6 or one LG V30. It's a remarkably much better buy more than ever than the V30 or G6. It's no wonder many in the V20 forum here like me, own two V20's. It is such a rarity.

The V20's 16:9 aspect ratio with 5.7" screen diagonal is actually more pleasant for reading: it displays slightly larger photos in Facebook feeds and larger movies than what you can see in with 6.0" V30. Also, despite having a smaller screen diagonal, it actually has more screen area than the V30 if you include the second screen.

                          1. Dedicated sd card slot (simultaneously use 2 sim slots + 1 sd card slot)
                          2. Infrared blaster - Potential V20 buyers are hooked on the convenience of having a master remote to control absolutely everything anytime, anywhere.
                          3. Removable battery - Potential V20 buyers don't want to spend time being tethered to the wall. By using an external battery charger, the depleted battery can simply be replaced with a fully charged one while charging the depleted battery on the external charger. When the battery loses charge or becomes damaged, V20 owners can just buy new ones.
                          4. Oled displays like in the V30 don't last as long as ips displays like in the V20.
                          5. Second screen - it's actually kind of useful. Not indispensible but something you will miss if you've been putting it to good use. Right now, It has got my most accessed apps on the second page and a 'Merry Christmas' greeting with Christmas tree and fireworks emoji on the first page (default display).
