The sound quality remain the same, according reliable information on this model.
The main difference is the non removable battery.
But with the plus of USB Type C 3.1 and the downside of the IR omitted.
Regards and good luck.

Reason for me not to consider v20 in 2020 is clearly because without doubt it is certainly not possible to get a brand new v20 considering that the device was released since 2016.

Most schenerio, it will be either refubursh device whereby majority of the device original parts have been replaced with non original hardware which might result in certain problem and terrible experiences such as over heating, battery or some parts of the device nor functioning properly.

A mobile phone is not able and does not pretend be a good hi-fi stereo system, but in music terms only the V20 demonstrate me that can be a decent portable alternative.

patrice, 12 Oct 2020the i have issues with the internet settings. i can't ... moreOf course it's one major problem with these refubursh phones, it's a trial by error thing, u either get lucky with a good device purchase or it's the other way round.

Before now i usually contemplate if to buy a second hand v20 or not but i have come to conclusion that it's not worth it in 2020, that's my opinion.

The only reason i wanted to purchase v20 was due to the audio experience based on the quad dac as a music lover and nothing more then i realized i could purchase a brand new mid range device with at least 5000 mah or more for example purchase something like realme c15 which have 6000 mah + usb audio dac which will give me similar audio experience or even better. I don't game on mobile devices and if i need to take a photo or shoot video i could use my p30 pro for that.

Of course, some people can flash custom roms depending on your v20 variants but for me, i wouldn't purchase a device like v20 just to put in a custom rom because i really want that audio experience and clearly putting a custom rom on such device comes with a trade off in terms of features.

Last year i bought a galaxy note 4 cheap price less than $100 without doing a proper research, as it have 2 variants, mine was unfortunately the exynos variant, despite using zerolemon 10000mah battery which is the only good thing i can boast of the device, honestly the performance is not great at all in my opinion mb due to the processor despite I'm using a custom rom which made the device work fast but i still encountered lags when opening some applications or doing multi tasking. Also, the display died less than 6 months of purchase and i had to replace another

If i should purchase a mid range device with 5000 mah or more, i am certainly that the device will receive at least 1 major update or at least 1year security update which will definitely benefit me than if i purchase a second hand v20 at 2020.

BTW, i am still using till date my lenovo p2 with a 5000 mah bought new since September 2017 and I haven't yet replace any of its part.
On a full charge, the device usually last me 2 days on moderate usuage.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2020Does V20 have HDMI out?The LG V20 supports HDMI video out over USB C. Just buy a USB C to HDMI adapter or slimport adapter and you can mirror the display on secondary screens (big screen TV, projector, computer monitor, etc.). The V20 can also do wireless screen share (Wi-Fi direct/miracast) but it's not as good as the wired option in terms of video quality, resolution and fluidity/smoothness/speed.

I don't use mine so I bought a "Taeozi" 10500 mAh from Amazon. It's pretty big but manageable. It can last 3 or 4 days with moderate use. I like it alot. It fits in a "puregear" holster very snug. My main problem with the update is that they should run it through a tester like us who knows the specific features of that particular phone, each different in their own way. That way nothing is lost in translation. If they did that I would not mind so much, but most everything is just rushed along and pushed out. I would and do definitely read what other people say about the update before committing to it. I do update my apps regularly.

The company/app holding your account information can be hacked if their website's security vulnerabilities are not patched regularly and if their user database gets compromised. But a phone with outdated security patch also contributes to that security vulnerability equation as well because it transacts payments with the app/website.

You can always gamble though like I did where I never had problems for years with an outdated LG V20 security patch until one day when I finally lost the gamble.

In fact, my phone is the only method of payment I use these days. It's the companies that hold your info that mess that up. I've never had any phone security issues what so ever, ever. Just saying. Updates are up to the user. This user has lost too many key features through updates over the years. I Just got tired of that. I don't want a new phone every year. I like this one.

Over the years I've noticed that I sometimes lose key features when I accept an Android OS update. That being said, I can't stress enough, at least for me, the importance of keeping the OS your (this) phone was designed around. Never do I update my OS. The first thing I do is turn off automatic updates... I do update certain apps only after I read the comments on said update. My V20 is still running the Nougat it was developed with. The phone is still as awesome as it ever was, last update patch Sept 2016. Probably one of the reasons I'm sitting here typing on it now, 4 years later. Can't say it enough how much I like this phone, and anybody that knows anything about this phone knows why...Beware the Dreaded I update.
