I still miss this phone, the V20 was peak smartphone. I'd buy this phone again in a heartbeat if it was re-released with modern specs. Don't change a thing about it, except give it a newer screen, CPU, and more memory.

I own a pair of V20's, since six years ago and both are free of any kind of troubles.
    Cheers.

OverBomb, 16 Aug 2023they wont released LG new phones?!Unfortunately, not anymore. LG's mobile sales have fallen steadily since at least 2018 citing one of the factors as to where it led to LG's exit from the smartphone is it wasn't successful in marketing the value of its products despite having innovative technology and its software issues: the bootloop and deadboot where it all began with the LG G4. There was no fix and they weren't even sure what caused the problem, plus they couldn't keep with the Apple and Samsung.

I loved the V20, with its partnership with Bang & Olufsen where it included the Quad DAC, DSLR style of photography and military-grade casing. While the V20 was a beast of a phone, the drawback has always been LG's issue of bootloop and deadboot, evident that my unit didn't last a year.

OverBomb, 16 Aug 2023they wont released LG new phones?!LG died of success with the V20, by giving the whole carrot, instead of slice by slice.
This kind of commercial policy broke the 'quorum' of the manufacturers and if you add its disastrous and erratic update system, the end has come.

Sellers try to pass them off as normal occurrence to buyers. And those burn free ones might end up with them after buying. At present I'm using a case with an inner 5.000 mAh battery, that adding the 5.500 mAh battery fitted in the V20, (with their original back cover), offers a pretty good amperage driving the device.
It's been six years since I used this combo and I had even forgotten about it.

MLAVRA, 30 Apr 2023It's time to say goodbye. After five and a half years,... moreMy priority buying a pair of V20's, six years ago (due to audio purposes editing video), was their audio quality and the tip of the V20 features, added to my priority is what you miss in the Samsung and what for me, as long the processors hold, is essential.
Good luck with the Samsung model and their battery!

It's time to say goodbye. After five and a half years, the longest time spent with one mobile phone, I left my (still working) LG V20 in the drawer and switched to, I'm ashamed to admit, the Samsung A52s 5G. Why from a flagship to an advanced mid-ranger? First I decided that I would not pay more than 400 EUR for the phone. Next, I carefully considered the features and characteristics: with its SD 778G and 8GB of RAM, it's noticeably faster than the V20, and since I'm not a heavy gamer, it neither heats up nor slows down during operation.
Of course, there is NO option to replace the battery and although it does not have a bad factory battery, you have to wait for it to charge! But it HAS two other features that are also slowly dying out, namely SD card and 3.5mm jack. The sound quality is not as good as the V20, but it is acceptable for travel, when you are on the phone. NO infrared transmitter which I used very often and NO FM Radio (which I used very rarely). It has an excellent display that is "only" HD: honestly, I hardly notice the difference in resolution. The absence of a secondary display is compensated by a combination of an always-on display and an edge panel, but LG's solution was more beautiful.
Of course, it supports VoLTE, 5G and other new and fancy features and all the programs on it (and those that were choking on the V20) work flawlessly. However, I do not believe that I will like it so much that I will use it for the next 5 years.

Once you've owned one of these, any phone you'll ever have again will be a downgrade in one way or another.

Here we are 7 years later, screens are lower res. Removable SD card isn't a feature anymore.

V20 has HI-DAC Audio ou through 3.5mm Jack, 2023 phones have NO audio Jack.

16MP camera shoots 4k, you might finally have a TV in your living room with higher res (7 years later)

I see so many complaints in comments about "battery life" and "reception"

Battery life: that's why it's removable, carry a spare, there is no phone on market with 6400mAh. Dead battery? Instant full, you wish your tesla could!

When in the age of 3G + 4G (v20 could use all its antennas) reception was fine.

The way the market is going, there will NEVER BE A BETTER PHONE.

The H918 is definitely one of them which is the one I still use on T-Mobile's Network without issue because it has the required VoLTE "Call over Data connection". The VS995 may also work on Verizon but I'm not sure for how long. As for the battery, being that is removable can be changed. If You like the slim factory style, Shenmz makes a good one (4380 mAh) that I've been using for over a year. Gets Me a full day use. It's on the Bay for under $20 USD. I have extended batteries for long hauls. Those are also reasonably priced. Out of those I prefer the Taeozi 10800 mAh. That one goes 3 days easy! Wishing You luck!
