To all Indian users of LG V20 who are looking for new batteries- The best option is getting an original battery. They are almost exclusively available from the authorized LG service centers. Most of them in metros would be keeping stock of V20 spares- I got a couple manufactured in August 2019 with GST invoice. Locate the nearest center near you from the LG India website, give them a call and if they are friendly, they would happily courier them to you.

Online availability of spare batteries is bad here. Stay clear of sellers who claim to sell original LG V20 batteries- they are in all probability fake. While the good branded spare batteries from the likes of Powerbear, Zero Lemon, etc. are available easily abroad, they aren't easily available here or would be prohibitively expensive.

Hope this helps in keeping your V20-s ticking for at least a couple of years longer. This phone's the last of its kind- a flagship that was built well with durability in mind. Features like the removable battery, hifi dac, dual 4G sim card slots with dedicated memory card slot, etc are consumer friendly. These traits are absent in the new flagships which are built nowhere as well and are much more fragile. Enjoy this piece of fine engineering while you can.

Ghosting or image retention in some V20's is a known issue. Search back previous posts from August 16, 2019 and apply the recommended fix stated there.

If someone here who has an -ESA-XX H990DS V20 variant can confirm successfully updating their V20 from Nougat to Oreo using the official ROM for other H990DS variants, (Ex. using Oreo ROM from. AME-XX variant), then let me know if itbreally doesn't brick an unrooted, bootloader locked phone.

One of my V20's is still on Nougat, the original Android version it was launched with in 2016. It's still on Nougat even UNTIL now. My second V20 got updated to Oreo almost a YEAR ago. Again, I don't believe my V20 on Oreo will get updated to Pie. Will hold on to my two V20's even without software updates until they die. They're really the LAST of the flagships that's got almost EVERYTHING: removable battery with third party extended battery options, headphone jack, FM radio, a learning/programmable master remote control (IR blaster), dual SIM with dedicated micro sd slot for up to 1 TB (soon 2TB) expansion, selectable LTE band and selectable network mode (LTE only), option for hidden SSID during hotspot sharing, drop resistance, 4K wired video out support that matches TV displays' aspect ratio, OTG support with support for digital TV dongles (to transform your phone into a tv, no internet/data needed; currently not possible with USB 3.1) and OTG support for external drives/thumb drives/card readers, USB hubs etc., 16:9 aspect ratio screen for larger viewable photo area, long lasting, sharp and crisp IPS display that doesn't give me BLACK BARS or display CROPPING during wireless screen mirroring to a smart TV, IPS display that doesn't have nasty color shifts (during screen tilting) like in Amoled/P-oled displays, doesn't have screen flickering andvpermanent screen burn, and doesn't have fuzzier/less sharp display like in AMOLED/P-oled displays but is still sufficiently colorful and saturated like amoled displays (minus the deep blacks), superb audio, photo and video recording capabilities, option for always on second screen for always on notifications with minimal battery drain, and very easy repairability.

In short, the V20 as I said more than 2 years ago, is bound to last for a long, long time. I expect it to last at least another 3 years more (6 years since it first launched).

It's really a precious gem so many people ignored or failed to realize. Its price has since dropped to below $300, yet few are willing to buy it despite the rock bottom price, in favor of the newer, more expensive, all screen, elongated (18:9, 19.5:9) 'modern' upper midrange to flagship phones that have nothing to offer other than an overkill resolution megapixel camera, a hyped up but largely useless and mediocre telephoto, and worse, GUARANTEED obsolescence and replacement in a YEAR or two due to limited repairability and limited upgrade options and features (no dual SIM with dedicated micro sd slot, no IR blaster, FM radio, headphone jack, etc.).

Enjoy your LG V20's while they last. They are the last of the truly consumer oriented, multifunctional, versatile, and REALLY SMART, smartphones that were NOT DESIGNED with rapid obsolescence/planned obsolescence in mind (not like the newer 'flavor of the month/model of the year' midrange and flagship smartphones nowadays).
