RunCheetah08, 09 Apr 2019I used this phone for almost 2 yrs and still thought it's g... moreLove my V20 H990DS too despite zero android version updates. (It's stuck with Nougat 7.0, the software it launched with, in 2016). It will be 3 years old late this year but I have a feeling I'm going to have it for 3 more years for a total of 6 years. My Powerbear 6500mAh extended battery used with this phone is really spoiling me. No 2019 phone/phablet can still quite beat its endurance and stamina with the 6500mAh extended battery attached. The battery doesn't sacrifice portability and pocketability (not like those 10,000mAh extended batteries).

I also love that despite having no 5G, 4G+ is still very fast for my streaming and downloading needs. And the dual sim + dedicated micro sd card slot is making me download as much Google and Netflix movies at my home wifi, as much as I want, for watching anywhere, on travels, vacations, etc., no data required. 400GB micro sd cards are now so cheap and soon those 1TB cards will become affordable too. No storage shortage whatsoever even if you record at the highest bitrate 4K video for hours thanks to the dedicated card slot.

The slimport functionality is just excellent too for the best 4K video playback on a large screen tv anywhere (defeats wireless screen share in video quality and fluidity everytime - except in tge area of convenience - no wires needed). And the 4K video quality at low to medium ISO's is just astounding and excellent that I never want to record Full HD videos anymore - ever. The camera can capture excellent low light photos too using manual modes. The manual focus and manual shutter speed (up to 30s) really helps. The audio recording and playback features are without comparison. Lots of manual audio settings too that enables the experienced user to control microphone directivity and gain for that perfect concert recording every time. And the headphone jack audio quality and built-in FM radio makes for a pleasant all around entertainment and listening experience online or offline.

And oh, I love my master remote too. I really can't imagine losing my all-in-one, always with me, cable, tv, aircon, appliance, etc. master remote in the V20. (It's got an IR blaster that can learn/clone IR based remotes) .

Also love that the V20 allows hidden hotspot so nobody asks for my hotspot/wifi password when I'm sharing my phone's mobile data to other devices.

And lastly, that LTE-only mode that keeps the V20 data connection stay on fast 4G connection without automatically switching to 3G/WCDMA whenever the 4G signal is weak in an area I'm in. And oh, that second screen that's always on and contains my favorite shortcuts and can display short greetings and emoticons, as well as notifications. Nothing quite like it.

The 16:9 QHD IPS display has remained very good too - no loss in brightness, no permanent screen burn and no color shifts after all these years not like in amoleds after years of use.

I guess the only thing it doesn't have is a major android software update. It's a good thing I bought two V20's. The other one got updated to Oreo. But really, Nougat or Oreo, I'm staying with my V20's and won't be buying a brand new smartphone in the near future. Will use the money instead to buy a 79" 4K IPS LCD TV soon or perhaps buy a new dSLR camera/lens or mirrorless interchangeable lens camera system. No point for me wasting money on new disposable flagship phones that cost a fortune and die with their sealed batteries yet don't even have half of the features/functionality my V20 has or is able do.

I used this phone for almost 2 yrs and still thought it's good. The battery may have degraded over the time. But, replace it easily, and voila I got the same battery performance 2 yrs ago. The design may be seen obsolete, but I found it unique. LG put their design style waaayy to good in V20 so the phone still looks great in 2019. The military grade make me want to stay with this phone. The glass, camera, or inside hardware never caught a problem even though i dropped it a lot. Love this phone a lot

tintin, 08 Apr 2019v20b-ind-xxGood for you. Lots other V20 variants haven't received Oreo at all and are stuck with Nougat - most likely forever.

          V20 variants updated with Oreo:
          H990DS IDN
          H990DS AME
          H990DS AUS (needs confirmation)
          H990DS AGR (needs confirmation)
          H990DS GCC (needs confirmation)

V20 variants still on Nougat (possibly no Oreo at all given
that they're already more than 2 1/2 years on Nougat):

          H990DS PHL
          H990DS VNM
          H990DS ESA
H990 single sim (Israel, South Africa)
          H990TR (Turkey)
          US996 U.S. Cellular
          Factory Unlocked US996
          H910PR (Puerto Rico)

          MORAL LESSON:
Don't ever buy an LG phone especially international variants unless you are absolutely OK with ZERO android software updates.

Many international V20 variants were never updated at all! They're still on Nougat 7.0, the exact same Android version they were released with almost 3 years ago (2016)!

If LG can't even update all V20 variants to Oreo, what makes anybody think there will ever be a Pie?
