Seems that LG is planning to exit the smartphone market so they are trying their best to make all their consumers hate them and to vow them that they never buy a LG smartphone again in life.

Question, friends:
So, my phone fell down twice and got two chips on the display in each upper corner. I ordered a replacement display from China for about 30 something EUR and I've just replaced it and the colors look somehow pale. As if the red light is not bright enough.
So, has anyone had a similar experience? Do I have to buy a more expensive display? Or...?
Other than that, this is a marvel of a phone with the large aftermarket batteries :)

Over two years since release, and still a great smartphone to use. Turning off the battery percentage killed off like 100% of my paranoia. I have considered selling it many times before along with my iPhone SE. I love both phones and rank them my #3 and #4 all-time favs but I grow tired iOS and the V20's size.
My G5 and V20 are too similar anyway. There is redundancy there but at the same time, I want that redundancy in case one breaks down or gets lost. Also, I prefer browsing on my V20 at home than my G5. I prefer listening to audio, typing notes, and light browsing on my G5. The G5 UI is also more fluid.
I have considered selling my V20 and SE to get the smaller Pixel 3 (black/128 GB). So it would be my Essential, Pixel 3, and G5 going forward. It's still on the table but I hate the fact that the Pixel 3 has below average battery life. Reason I still can't do it is because the V20 is an extra TV remote for me and I will miss removable battery and expandable storage.
The V20 is likely a keeper for life for me even though it has T-Mobile bloat. I plan to stay with the $40 T-Mobile prepaid for a long time anyway.

RaSh, 03 Nov 2018Nor for V20 H990DS Indian version such kind of attitude aga... moreMaybe they want to make us buy their last devices, that's why they are so late with the updates for old devices, but with this attitude they make many people never buy lg again. They don't respect customers. I like V20 a lot, it is a great phone. The only thing i don't like is battery life and i hope after the update to oreo this problem will be solved and the battery will last longer, although there is the possibility to be worst.

Chudo, 01 Nov 2018Anyone having constant lag in menu after the update?I have ... moreDon't have Oreo yet but try this if you are experiencing lags with your V20. (Menu system may be slightly different under Oreo):
1. Disable auto update of playstore apps. Set to: "Do not update." Let all background updates that you can't disable (Play store, Play services, etc.) update completely. Be sure LTE data connection or wifi connection is fast and not having connectivity/speed problems. (Play services that can't update due to slow internet connection can create lags if update is auto started but not completed).
2. Go to settings -> general -> apps -> configure apps (three dots at the upper right) -> special access.
Choose:
Ignore optimizations - turn ON for All apps (default is off)
From the same 'special access' menu,
Choose next:
Draw over other apps - turn OFF for ALL apps. (except messaging)
3. Enable developer options if not enabled already.
First, turn ON 'force gpu rendering'
Then set window animation scale, transition animation scale and animator duration scale to 0.5 for all three.
Then restart phone.
4. Download Nova Launcher
Go to nova settings -> look and feel
Set both 'scroll speed' and 'animation speed' to 'fast'.
5. If internal storage is 2/3 to near full, transfer media files to a genuine/authentic class 10 micro sd card. (Counterfeit cards or lower speed class 4 micro sd cards create lag problems). Also ensure micro sd card is not near full. Don't move any apps to micro sd card.
If V20 still lags, then it could be 'planned obsolescence' strategy by LG to force you to upgrade to V40. Other users who got Oreo haven't complained of lags though so let's hope yours is an isolated case (maybe some misbehaving apps under Oreo).

Anyone having constant lag in menu after the update?I have factory reseted it before and after the update and it noticeably lags on all menu tabs even 3 weeks after the update :(
