Bought this in 2016 and had it until 2020. V series quality is great. Wired sound was super solid. The second screen on this was actually really handy at the time. Cameras were future proof in 2016 and held up super well years later. Removable battery was such a cool feature, I had 2 extras and would just swap em out for a full charge when one died. Screen burn in is pretty bad after all this time and the chargin port is busted on mine.

I think that selling LG their commercial rights of the V20 to another company, simply with a last generation chipset and if possible, even improving the QUAD DAC, making it possible again to produce the V20, could be a true hit.

It was a false alarm. Just few minutes ago opening the closet and mechanically pressing the on of the presumably death, their sudden 'rebirth', really incomprehensible to me, was a breath of joy. Right now I have hope to have V20's until 'my' and real end.

Unfortunately are ended the audio editions of my videos, but I hope that the remaining it could be operative until the end of my days, since I have seventy seven years old at present.

Updated list of reasons why LG V20 is better than newer / modern smartphones and Android versions:

          - removable battery
          - 3.5mm jack,
          - FM Radio,
          - Infrared port remote,
          - proper 16:9 screen ratio,
          - microSD card slot,
          - no notch or camera hole on screen,
          - no curved screen edges and corners,
          - superior IPS LCD instead of the inferior AMOLED.
          - working call recording, thanks to Android 7 and 8 versions,
          - faster and unrestricted access to file system and Android/data and /obb folders, thanks to Android 7 and 8 versions,

LG V20 is much better and has much more features than all newer / modern smartphones. The only thing that is better in modern smartphones is the chipset (CPU/GPU) and camera. Modern smartphones and Android versions are garbages. It sucks, because I want to play PC games on the phone using ExaGear Windows Emulator, but the V20 is too weak for that.

Still using May 2022, it's a great phone. I use my old one to charge my spare batteries. Have 4 Perfine 10500 mAh batteries i keep in rotation, so I never have to charge my main phone! 1TB MicroSD card. Use the IR blaster on the regular between my TV's and devices. Have not found another phone suitable for me to upgrade to, that keeps these features or out-does the V20.

According EU agreements to shelf life for phones, the removable battery come again.
I'm not surprised. The V20 demonstrate that was advanced in many ways and this question isn't among the less importants.

Still rocking it. LG V20 is packed with many usable functions, which are great. IR blaster which I used when the remote broke. When I listen to high impedance headphones (yes it has a jack), then the battery can be replaced easily. I have dual sim version. The camera is still great for smart phone.. 4k video with adjustable settings in pro mode. Sd card 500gb. My screen broke, and finally stopped working, but was very easy to replace. So now I have almost 7year old phone that looks new again. The only downside is the updates are very rare and I am only afraid when it won't be updated to newly updated apps.

Anything new to me on my V20 's? Really the oldest :their high capacity in sound. In order of this, I still using both V20's to audio video editing.
Circumstances separate me of the classic HI-FI, but the destiny gave me the chance to know the V20's.
I'm happy for you, that you are able to obtain all the benefits of the LG V20.
Kindest regards, especially apart of you, to Anonymous.

This device never gets old.

I'm just careful with them and never click on anything dangerous. 6 years of no problems at all proves my point at least with these devices. Ironically though that is what will end the functionality once apps no longer support Oreo. Then I'll probably do the same as You. Media only, and switch to the V60 and ride that one for as long as I can. I read somewhere that the return of the removable battery is coming because of battery swelling issues causing internal damage to phones and popping screens out. Hopefully that will be available when the time comes.

One is used as master remote and FM radio in addition to occasionally being connected to my home audio system (it has a 3.5mm jack unlike many stupid flagship phones of 2022).

The other, still used as a regular call an text phone and a 4K video recorder because the V20's fully equipped built in video recording app has all the important manual controls (manual ISO, manual focus, manual shutter speed, etc.) plus OIS necessary for serious 4K video recording. And the 4K 30fps video quality can still rival even the 2022 flagship phones if you engage the manual controls and use a gimbal. (It's a different story though if you're a 'full auto only' user). It actually accepts 1 TB micro sd cards and has removable battery (I have 4 OEM spare batteries) so I prefer it for marathon video recordings than my current phone that has limited storage space and limited battery capacity.

Overall, the only reason I don't use them as main phones anymore is because of outdated security patches and lack of VoLTE support (at least for my H990DS unlocked models). It's still amazing though they're almost 6 years old but still can do many things even the most expensive flagship phones of 2022 can't do or can't quite match. They may be sold very cheap nowadays but they still are legendary, at least for me and for other people who value a really versatile, truly smart, smart phone, and one that doesn't become obsolete and unusable in a year or two (because of burnt Amoled screens or worn out sealed batteries).

So it's been a minute. Hated to leave my LS997 on Nougat, but Sprint... ...we know the rest...And after some now resolved issues I am happy once again. When I pulled this H918 outta the box it was indeed silver. Like completely silver right over the IR blaster and I'm like damn already? It also had the B&O branding on the battery cover but not the wallpaper but that could have been removed when it was updated to Oreo by the misleading seller. I have seen wallpapers removed in the past. Anyway I scraped the paint from the IR blaster and it worked. The battery was astonishingly flat and not bloated so I went ahead and tried it out. I had been running the 10800 mAh for a while and it was nice to be thin again in the UAG case. The battery usage was noticeably higher. Didn't like that, but the more I got it set up the better it seemed. I've heard Oreo does that and I was going to revert it back to Nougat but then one of my apps no longer supported that so I decided to not touch it. One day it got real buggy. Then it took a spill at work and damaged the volume rocker to the point it wouldn't move. So when I got home I took it apart because these phones are so darn easy to work on it's nice. Straightened the volume rocker out, put it back in, and while I was at it and because the refurb camera bezel was on my nerves I took one of my Titan LS997 apart and grabbed the frame which houses the bezel and fingerprint sensor along with the top and bottom pieces then put all that back on the H918. Now it's like I have my old phone back. The funny thing is it actually seems much happier now. No issues as long as the connection is good. I got a V60 on the shelf all set up like this phone but it's NOT this phone, and I'm surprised to report that my V20 headphone jack is Superior in my humble opinion. But those speakers! 3D engine..Wow.. Also one last thing to add while on that subject there were some small differences in sound between the LS997 and the H918. Its hard to determine if it's a B&O thing or Oreo, I've heard both but they both sound great with the PowerAmp parametric tweaks I'm running along with the Sound magic E80c's. I hope everyone is doing well and still enjoying their V20s. Cheers!
