In both models your mother tongue, Dutch, is absent.
I don't know if LG has more V20 models where your language was present.

Love this phone, it's officially supported by LineageOS with weekly updates. Longer battery life, easier to uninstall useless apps, root access for certain apps, and there's a dedicated (but small) fanbase. The audio chip is superior to most phones today, battery is easy to remove and there's upgraded batteries that go up to 10k mah for weeks in between charges. Before I had this phone, I couldn't care less about any of them but this changed everything.

If You can find VoLTE in Your pull down menu or phone settings somewhere, You should be fine for now. I have an LS997 on Sprint. VoLTE is nowhere to be found. I also have an H918 and VoLTE is right in the phone settings. I hope You find it in Yours. Best Regards.

Newbie question. With the impending end to 3G, will my Verizon V20 become a brick? I understand that Verizon is supporting VoLTE, so does that mean that I will be able to make calls, but that I will not have access to data (other than via WiFi)?

LTE is used for downloads only, since I don't steam music having all music already onboard. Right now I can get up to 5 hours at 100% using the DAC in high mode through Sound magic E80C's. Mind You I do run Taeozi and Perfine 10000 mAh plus batteries. I'll report if there is a change in that number when I change over next month.

Online gamers get disconnected during online gaming, making them lose to an online game opponent because someone called them over 2G/3G. Also, someone downloading a huge file may have their download interrupted by a 2G/3G call and they'll have to start all over again, unless if they're using a download manager app that can resume cut off downloads.

Was never sure which line was to blame. I'm also looking forward to being able to be on a call and also being able to use data simultaneously which was advertised but never honored through sprint in my area since LTE went up. Just when I think I know everything about a V20...it always hits me with something new. Even after 5 years running, It's still the Best.

FRILL, 03 Nov 2021Enjoying the last few weeks with my LS997. Gonna miss this ... moreYou're going to like VoLTE. Very clear voice calls with very low background noise. Dropped calls, choppy, noisy, and other voice call dysfunctions (like the other person not hearing you but you can hear them), will be a thing of the past. 3G/2G calls in weak signal areas and dead spots usually result to those mentioned voice call problems so you have to raise your voice or run outside in an open area with strong signal to keep the conversation going.
With VoLTE, as long as you have an LTE signal, even 1 network bar only, it won't matter whether you're inside a bathroom, elevator or basement parking. You're going to hear voice calls with VoLTE loud and clear with absolutely no interruptions, no need to raise your voice (that is, unless you completely lose the LTE signal). For the best voice calls, the other line should also be on VoLTE.

Enjoying the last few weeks with my LS997. Gonna miss this awesome daily driver because of the destruction of 3g in my area. Shame on the sprint technical team for droppin the ball on this issue, but we see what poor planning can do and so, Good bye sprint. It's been a crazy 23 years. Now on to the future with T-Mobile and a different device. Another V20! Lol.. Couldn't move on, so that H918 that I ordered finally arrived. Not brand new as stated but very nice. Updated to Oreo OS (BOOO!) But I've been informed that it can be reverted back to Nougat if I so desire, so cool. I've LG transfered everything from this unit to that one. Everything works! This unit will be dedicated only to DAC out the FLAC files in the car audio system after January 2022 and we'll see what this VoLTE is all about. Good luck to all trying to stay aboard, and Cheers!

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2019But we'll miss you! :-P You've been here trolling the V20 ... moreA very old post... It's amazing how the V20 stood the test of time. It used to be trolled a lot as a flagship phone when it was newer. I still have two of these phones. I haven't sold them because they're really still as good and perfectly usable and functional as on the day I bought them. Had invested on 6 original OEM LG batteries back then when they're still available. Two have gone bad, but still, my V20's are on original OEM batteries (still 4 left). My V20's were, and still are the best investment I've made in smartphones. They're my record longest running smartphones --- with no issues at all, apart from running a very old, not so secure anymore Android software.
I can't sell them because they still provide me with the best sounding music and analog FM radio sound from my headphones. Their learning remote that's been indispensable, which no modern phone in existence has, is still in use for a few of my home appliances that have lost their remotes. They still have very good 4K capable camera even when compared to newer 2021 phones. The availability of cheap 1 TB of micro SD storage that can be added in a dedicated micro SD slot without losing dual SIM functionality has made sure this phone still has enough storage.
Amazing how it hasn't lost much of its functionality and usability. I long for the day smartphone makers go back to designing and making phones that don't have planned obsolescence in mind. There would be less waste and more focus on real, more meaningful smartphone improvements rather than more of the same annually disposable technology.
