The note 8 is really oversharpened and its noise reduction highly deteriorates the detail compared to the V20 which favors a much more natural output with more noise but more detail making it much more flexible. Also the V20 is using a fast shutter speed so in real world situations the note 8 is much more likely to look blurred as it takes a picture slower in dark shots.

          Just to add... Samsung does not produce amoled/oled based tvs. If they did, their amoled tvs would cost more but still suffer the same permanent screen burn in issues as LG's oled tvs. Samsung has been doing black propaganda on LG's oled tvs because LG's oleds cost cheaper and many tv manufacturers (Panasonic, Philips and Sony) are getting into oled tv's and source their oled panels from LG. Samsung came up with an 'OLED' sounding tv: the Samsung 'QLED' tv which is actually LCD technology (not OLED). QLED being an LCD technology, don't suffer from permanent screen burn in. However, like all LCD panels, QLED doesn't get the same deep black levels, high color saturation and contrast/dynamic range as true OLED/Amoled displays. In exchange, you have a tv that doesn't suffer from screen burn in. That is what Samsung is advertising with its QLED tvs to combat the popularity of LG's OLED tv panels.

It's different when you have it on an amoled/oled display. Once you see it in those screens, it's permanent.

However, I personally consider it neglectable and tend to believe that it is not a characteristic of V20 only. If it stays like this, I don't see any reason to complain.

                MLAVRA, 07 Jul 2018Many users of this forum write about screen retention on V2... moreYou can see it when you actively spend too much time (30min or more) in a particular app (ex. Google chrome) whereby the chrome app screen remains on continuously due to text input or active use for 30 min or more. The chrome address bar remains visible /gets retained temporarily after switching to another screen. Visibility varies depending on the screen display you switch to next after chrome. Usually, it is more visible under plain gray wallpaper. The V20 has a built in LCD test. You'll see it more clearly in that test. However, it is temporary. It goes away after your phone screen has been off for a while. If you have the H990DS variant, you can access the LCD test by typing the following in the V20's dialer app:
                *#546368#*990#
                Tap: SVC Menu - LCD Test - Manual Test
                In the Manual test, tap repeatedly at the center of the screen until you get to the plain gray screens (6th tap onwards). You should see some retained images normally invisible under the phone's normal use. Again, it goes away after the display has been off for a while. It's different from amoled/oled screen burn that never goes away (permanent) even if you have the screen off for days.

                  - the beauty slider set to the rightmost (maximum blur to erase skin imperfections);
                  - have dirt in the lens of your selfie camera,
                  - have used the regular selfie (not ultrawide selfie) in low light; or
                  - have a defective selfie camera if all selfies you take look blurred regardless of lighting conditions.

If you forgot your password, you can do a hard reset (factory reset). You will lose all phone data. After the reset, you will still not be able to use the phone unless you provide user name and password of any active Google account in the phone prior to factory reset.

                        Anyone knows how to make the selfie cam looks nicer. Everytime we I take selfie it's blurred

                          Many users of this forum write about screen retention on V20 but nobody gives any further details. I have been using the phone for 11 months and have never seen any trace of screen retention. Screen timeout is 1 minute, brightness is automatic and, normally, I don't keep static images on forever. It would be nice and useful if some of you, who experienced the problem, can give us more details (level of brightness, which software, keeping of static images, overheating...) so that we know how to avoid screen problems in the future.

                                    This phone is their best smartphone i ever owned. Better than the samsung s7 exynos as well as the snapdragon variant by far.
