I'm not rich, not even wealthy. These are PHONES not cars or houses. The funniest people are people who are not rich, buy average or normal things but then compare them to higher range or luxury level things. You probably would buy a Tata nano and then brag how your little 2016 Tata nano is easier to park then a 2018 BMW 3 series. Then you would brag how your Tata nano is lighter and gets better fuel economy. Then you'd brag how parts and service are cheaper. Then after all this bending and manipulation you'd say your Tata nano must be the better car. It's not.

I bought two 50 inch tvs, one for upstairs one for downstairs but with the same money I could have bought one huge 80 inch tv why didn't I? Because I needed TWO tv's! ! !

Now you're going to tell me you could have bought two iPhone x's.. ..

The first I bought for $525 and the second for $300. That doesn't include the four BCK 5200 external chargers I bought for $40 each for the two phones totalling $160 and the 200gb micro sd card I bought for $140. If you do the math, I could have bought an iPhone X or flagship Samsung instead with lots of spare change. That's the problem with you. You judge financial status of people through the phone they use. For all you know, many of those who bought iphones and flagship Samsungs just want to appear rich and glamorous while the truly rich are just sporting midrange phones or even feature phones.

Most people here didn't even pay $500 for theirs and they wouldn't have payed $700. No, they wouldn't have bought an iPhone X or whatever I don't know why you're even bringing these into consideration theyre in a totally different price class. If the v20 was $700 you and most people here wouldn't have bought it AND you wouldn't have bought a Samsung or Apple flagship, either. You just would have bought another sub-500 dollar phone that you felt was the best value.

You just don't get anything I write. You know outside of India this is already a long gone and forgotten phone right?

Anonymous, 10 May 2018I really believe that as a smartphone brand, LG is dying a ... moreGiven that an imminent death is likely for the LG brand with the absence of removable battery, IR blaster and dedicated sd card slot in ALL of LG's newer flagship phones, I believe the V20 will be my FIRST and LAST LG phone unless LG comes back to its senses and bring back at least the IR blaster or put in a 4000mAh or bigger capacity battery in its future flagships (if it can't bring back removable batteries). Otherwise, after both my V20's are dead, I'm out of the LG brand. I'll be likely going back to either Xiaomi or Huawei. Most likely, I'll choose Huawei's Mate series or Xiaomi's Mi Max line as my V20 successor if LG continues crippling its newer flagship phones with no IR blasters and with sealed batteries that are below 4000mAh. At least with tge Xiaomi or Huawei, their sealed batterie are remarkably bigger and will likely last longer before losing capacity. Both also have IR blasters, and in the case of Xiaomi, an FM radio too, and ability to set mobile data to 'LTE only' just like in the V20. Also, I miss Xiaomi's extensive theming capabilities and frequent and timely Android updates.

Even if the LG V20 costed the same as the iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, S9+ or P20 pro, I'd still buy V20 over either of the 2 newer Samsung phones or the iphone or the P20 pro. You really do think all people are motivated by image, brand prestige and glamor more than features and substance. Well heck no. I don't care about status symbol phones if they lack the features I want. If they have all the features I want then I don't care if they cost double or triple or quadruple the V20 (like the iphone X), then I'm buying it.

That could (should?) have been a great year for LG, too, since everyone was having to return their exploding Note 7's you thought LG would have cleaned up, but nope.

I think most people in this forum can even admit the only reason they chose the V20 was because of the price and the value it represents since I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who paid more than $500 USD for one. Would they have bought it if it was $600 or $700? Nope. Would YOU have bought it if it was $600 or $700? Nope. Even I was only thinking of buying one because of the discounted price...

Vicky, 09 May 2018Android P has been rolling out for many devices, but LG is ... moreI really believe that as a smartphone brand, LG is dying a slow and painful death. After the V20, all its succeeding flagship phones removed the only remaining features that set them apart from Samsung flagships (removable batteries, dedicated sd card support, IR blaster). Now, LG's flagships (V30, V30s, G6, G7) do not have anything anymore different from Samsung's flagships other than presence of an FM radio. With no unique selling features coupled with snail paced Android software updates, I believe it is no longer a question of whether it will die or not, but rather, when it will die unless it goes back to its senses and realize what made people choose the V20 over Samsung flagships despite the LG name being a second, third, or fourth rated Android smartphone brand in terms of brand image, recall and recognition.

Most big Android phone makers are guilty of slow to no updates yet they still manage to sell the most phones which just suggests that most consumers don't consider updates and support at time of purchase or they just don't care.

Lets be honest, If you knew until now your v20 still wasn't going to receive any updates you still would have bought it, right? Case in point.

Please be ashamed of thid LG, stop releasing new device in upcoming year and start working on softwares first.

Coming from phones with 4000mAh and 5300mAh sealed batteries, the shift to a flagship phone with sub 4000mAh battery can be limiting for heavy phone users. That's why I STRONGLY recommend NEVER EVER BUYING a flagship phone with sealed battery that doesn't have at least 4000mAh and up battery capacity. EXCEPT of course, when it has removable battery option. Otherwise, you will never be happy with the battery performance. Worse, the smaller the battery capacity, the faster the degradation/wear and tear. You will then need to replace the phone much earlier unless its battery is removable in which case, you can just buy a new battery.

a spare OEM V20 battery so you'll have 3200mAh x 2 =6400mAh total capacity. It beats any modern flahship phone in convenience and battery longevity anytime. Best of all, you don't need to buy a bigger battery phone if the battery capacity does not meet your needs since the V20 has removable battery.

A compromise solution among more time of use and device still lightweight.
