SOT from 40% - 5% is indicative of bad or failing battery if there are no battery draining apps running in the background. It's a good thing you can just buy a new OEM LG V20 battery for so cheap. If it were sealed, you'll have to throw away your phone like what you do with the flagships of today with sealed batteries. Or pay for battery replacement that costs half the phone's current retail price that you're better off buying a new phone instead.

AnonD-759519, 13 May 2018My lg v20 charger is not working anymore in my country lg v... moreYou should check first which of the following is faulty: 1. the USB C cable, 2. the AC adapter/head unit, 3. the phone's usb c slot (could be loose connection, etc.) or 4. the battery (possibly defective/no longer charges). For 1 and 2, you can try a different AC adapter/head unit that is Qualcomm quick charge 2/3 certified and, also try another high quality usb c cable. For #3, that is, if connection is loose or there is damage to the V20's charging port/charging mechanism, you can opt to buy the official BCK 5200 external battery charging accessory for the LG V20 if you don't want your phone repaired. For #4, you can just buy a new OEM LG V20 battery to replace the defective, non-charging battery.

My last 2 LG devices went something like this:
100-85% : 1 hour SOT
85-65%: 1 hour SOT
65-40%: 1 hour SOT
40-5%: 1 hour SOT
So yeah based on the first hour of use you think wow battery life is great but it drops faster as you use it to the point where you only get 1 hour of SOT out of the last 40%.

In fact LG V20 has very good battery life. I played Colin McRae Rally 2005 with PPSSPP emulator on my V20 at 40-50% screen brightness for 1 hour and it drained only 12% charge from the stock battery. (PSP emulator is one of the most CPU demanding things on a phone.)

The lg V20 is the rightful and capable device to get the "thinQ" features from V30, and this monster should skip android 8.0 to get android 8.1

Even if you watch the YouTube reviews all the comments are like "great phone, got mine for $350!"...
It's a fact nobody wanted to pay $700 for THIS phone otherwise the price wouldn't have dropped so fast. It's quite the paradox had the v20 been a run away success a lot of people here might have never got the chance to buy one for so cheap!

Actually, if you all looked at updates recently, LG made a statement intending to release an Android Oreo update for all of its phones that don’t have it. Aside from that, if you really want Android Oreo, just root your phone and install it then, that or wait for the official update release from LG.

We're talking about phone budgets - not cars or tvs. Not all rich people are into flaunting or buying flagship phones - some prefer to flaunt expensive car collections, some their expensive jewelry, etc. This discussion would have ended had you admitted you were wrong in assuming 'V20 owners only bought the device because discounted flagship phones is all they can afford.' Well I tell you again. You couldn't be more wrong.

It's clear instead of the two V20's and accessories I could have easily bought a Samsung flagship or an iPhone X with spare change if I really wanted to. I'm not like you who sport a glamorous status symbol flagship Samsung but CHOOSE the cheapest, lowest internal storage option, just so you can flaunt you own an 'expensive' flagship phone on carrier subsidy which you still have to pay on monthly, two year amortizations while not being able to afford a 200GB micro sd card for your internal memory deprived lowest storage option Samsung phone.
