I don't need hundreds of gb's of memory I just want a phone with a great camera, screen, and battery life. Of those three screen and camera are the most important and I already have LG two screens (g4 and gen1 15" MacBook pro with retina display) that exhibit the screen retention problem and I don't want a third.

I only listen to fm radio in my car. I also don't watch or stream 4k on my phone because I got a 4k box and tv for that, too. And I play games on my xbox. Is your phone like the only thing you use for entertainment and media?

But I've never brought other phones or brands into this forum either. I still actually own more LG phones than any other brand at this moment, I just don't use them anymore.

Do you want me to disappear for a while just so you can see just how dead it is here? I wonder if this forum could even manage 1 new post per day.

Dedicated micro sd card slot in a dual SIM phone is a RARITY in the flagship world. Name any Samsung flagship phone newer than the V20 that has it. Second, support up to 2TB means future proofing but that does not mean you can't currently enjoy large total torage. For now, the V20 can have 400GB sd storage + 64GB inernal storage without losing dual functionality. Name any Samsung (or any) flagship phone newer than the V20 that can offer you such huge storage capabilities without losing dual SIM functionality without costing upwards of $2000 (512 GB Mate RS). Do you have any answer? (crickets... silence...)

You keep on focusing on the absence of 2TB cards YET FAIL to acknowledge that for $525 ($300 for 64gb V20, + $225 for 400GB Sandisk micro sd), you can easily afford to have 464 GB of TOTAL storage! And that is just the beginning. When larger sd cards come, the V20 will be ready. Can you say the same of your disposable hybrid SIM slot Samsung phone? Or are you going to discount my whole 'dedicated sd card slot' argument as a unique V20 advantage just because 2TB cards don't exist yet. Tell me now, where can I buy a flagship Samsung phone that can give me 464GB total storage for only $525? (crickets... deafening silence again...) :)

It's a simple question that still hasn't been answered but instead manipulated, warped, and twisted into other arguments.

It goes to show it still is a relevant phone in 2018, truly one of a kind, the last of its breed to truly offer almost everything you can ask for, the pinnacle of what a smartphone can be: an all-in-one device - not just a glorified Facebook device for photo capture and sharing.

That means: 64GB internal + 400GB external (for now) WITHOUT losing dual SIM functionality. Can you name any other flagship phone other than the ultra expensive, Mate RS that will give you such total storage capacity without sacrificing dual SIM functionality?

LG was following the strategy of making devices packed with features and avant-garde ideas. V20 is true and last example of such strategy. It has everything that was available at that time on the mobile's market plus some unique features. LG's idea probably was to put all in one and every customer will find something for himself. It can even work in a simple and common way like iPhone (without application drawer) for those who like it simple. We wasted a lot of ink writing about replaceable battery and dedicated memory slot and forgot e.g. the second display which gives you the opportunity to see incoming calls without interrupting the current work or to have camera setup very handy, always on! This is a phone for android enthusiasts, who enjoy in setting and tweaking the device that in return gives them unlimited fun.
What was wrong with LG's marketing strategy? Well it is obviously wrong for the company to make a phone that has it all and lasts long. There are not much new features that can be invented; there is an obvious saturation in the market so the future difference will be which Snapdragon number is in it and how many cameras are there. The design of new phones is also converging to common look: glass and the "notch"! But, for majority of customers, it seems that the most important thing is not variety of features and highly customisable phone; instead, mobile phone should be a toy that looks like "SamPhone", that is simply stupid to use, that they can brag with, because they are highly overpriced for the devices that last one year.
Therefore keep your V20s; they are the last of its kind. This is a brilliant piece of technology and the number of trolls and malicious comments on this forum just confirms this.

Btw pretty much all phones which take a sd card support 2tb sd cards, only LG was silly enough to market it as a feature of the v20 even though 2tb cards aren't even available yet and it's almost 2 years after the fact now.

Looks like you totally bought into their marketing, though, always mentioning support for 2tb cards. And let's be honest you won't be standing in line to buy one when they do come out. But hey why not just buy 4 x 256gb sd cards and swap them out like your battery? lol. Come on if you're comfortable swapping batteries surely swapping sd cards must be ok, too. Don't be a hypocrit now.

Android flagship phone manufacturers do not like to make phones with dual SIM slots with dedicated SD card slots not because people don't want it, but because they are copying and learning from Apple's book. They realize filled up/corrupted internal phone storage /slowed phone response from low remaining internal phone memory is one of the reasons users upgrade to newer phones with bigger internal memory. The slow down from an almost filled up phone internal memory is UNBEARABLE! They say, just buy their new expensive phone model with bigger storage - or use their cloud services! Either way, they make money and you waste expensive data uploading and downloading your files while exposing them to hacking. Besides, it's not always possible to have high speed data connection everywhere you go. When you are out of town enjoying the waterfalls, or in areas where data networks are not available or weak, or in a calamity, does that mean you no longer have access to your very useful life saving offline Kiwix encyclopedia, offline maps, FM radio or enjoy hours of offline lossless music and offline high quality photos and videos? That is why despite all the talk about cloud storage, internal storage in phones continue to grow in size through the years. A dual sim phone with dedicated sd card slot support up to 2TB ensures you wont have to waste money upgrading to an overpriced flagship phone with higher internal storage.

The V20's dual SIM slot plus dedicated sd card slot ensures you will never have to upgrade to an overpriced disposable flagship phone with larger internal memory - should you run out of internal storage and still want to have dual SIM functionality. What fills up phone storage fast is media files - music, videos, photos which are better stored in the sd card. Using a 400GB Sandisk microsd card now (currently available for $225) ensures you will never have storage problems. A few years from now, when your storage is filled up with 4k movies, (including offline movie downloads from Google play movies, Youtube, etc.), filled up with 16 megapixel photos (RAW +jpeg), filled up with high quality lossless FLAC music and offline Spotify music and other storage devouring personal files like Kiwix offline encyclopedia ZIM files (ranges from 20GB file size for no pics to 61GB file size with pics), you will have option to upgrade to higher storage by then as larger storage options will be available and 400GB micro sd cards will be much cheaper (still, even now, it's cheaper than buying the ultra expensive 512gb Mate RS). That my friend, is called FUTURE PROOFING. 1TB or 2TB micro sd cards are not yet commercially available now but the V20 will be ready when that time comes: while all other flagship phones of 2018 will long have dead irreplaceable sealed batteries or have their internal storage corrupted from repeated read/write/erase of storage devouring media files or their AMOLED screens rendered unusable from screen burn or cracked bezelless displays from falls (curved bezelless screens are very fragile at the curved glass portion).

LG might come up with a true V20 successor with the same or almost the same extensive feature set in 2019, then surely, it's worth the upgrade. No need for me to wait until 2022. Why would I deprive myself of the chance to improve on my V20 experience if and when there really is a true successor with dedicated sd card slot in a dual sim phone, with FM radio and IR blaster, removable battery or AT LEAST 4000mAh battery if sealed, plus any other hardware improvements (micro LED screen, faster but more efficient processor, etc.) That would be a nice phone to upgrade to, but until then, I'll stick with my V20 for as long as it's alive with no real or worthy successor still around. And no, I don't have to own those new flagship phones to make judgment. It's clear they are designed to be replaced every year or two. Unless you like the concept of a disposable phone, then by all means, enjoy your new flagship phone each and every year.

Then in 2022 you'll buy a new phone and all of a sudden that phone will be the best phone for the next 5 years.

It's halarious and sad at the same time the only way you can be happy with your v20 is to put other phones down by saying all the new features are useless gimmicks. It's like you have to convince yourself that other phones are crap so you can be happy with yours. You probably haven't even held or touched those phones yet you already have your judgements.

Oh and please tell me where I can buy a 2TB sd card.

Flagship phone manufacturers nowadays come up with faddish features that rapidly go stale and out of style and have no real long term benefit or value: 960fps movie recording, 18:9 curved screens, quadruple cameras, more and more megapixels and RAM, wireless charging, 512gb internal memory, etc. when it would have been vastly so much better and more cost saving and future proof had they come up with dual sims with dedicated sd card slots instead (cheaper yet can go up to 2TB), removable batteries rendering slow, battery wear- accelerating wireless charging worthless, bigger sensor cameras with F/1.4 or larger apertures than quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, small sensor cameras with crappy digital zooms, small apertures and excessive megapixels, drop resistant non-curved screens than worthless curved 18:9 screens with stupid notches that are fracture prone and unwanted touch magnets, and 960fps videos that produce youtube like 240p low quality footage under low light as if the video was passed through a blender. Full hd and 4k videos in with large sensor cameras. and f/1.4 aperture would have been a much better direction to take than the worthless 960fps 'feature'.

I haven't heard of any flagship smartphone not getting even a single Android version update. If LG fails to deliver Oreo, it will be the first manufacturer to fail to do so. That's not very good for LG's image. They wouldn't gamble on it. Although personally, Oreo or not, I don't have and will never have regrets buying two LG V20's. It is worrh to me more than ANY RECENT FLAGSHIP PHONE released in 2018. Wouldn't trade it for a Note 8, S9 an iphone X or even the ultra expensive Mate RS. The V20 outperforms them all in features/multi function flexibility and overall real life usefulness as a versatile all-in-one device and will also outperform them in terms of service life and device long term usefulness and longevity.
