So it is either water proof/resistant or removable battery. Perhaps in the future doing both will cost less but mean time it is one or the other. :-(

The top section of the screen (below 2nd display) isnt curved causing the main display to look assymentrical. The selfie cam in the centre looks good but may not be practical if one is going to be using the secondary display (now split in 2). Thats my only issue.

Removable batteries are safer/ more convenient but no company wants to do it anymore SO BE IT. OLEDs are replacing LCDs so again SO BE IT. Just hope they keep the IR blaster and FM radio which is one the main reasons I buy LG flagships. If not well SBI!!!

If LG puts a replaceable battery on this one, I'm almost determined to buy two. Why? Because I fear this might be the last non-consumerist pro-environment flagship phone on the planet. Companies are determined to force us to change phones every 2 years. I strongly disagree. My Galaxy Note 3 is an amazing phone and thanks to the replaceable battery I can use it at least one more year :).

Plz LG we want solid phablet more than flagship

Where is the claim that the V30 will come out without a removable battery coming from? I see no credible rumor anywhere on the internet.

The removable battery is one of the defining elements of LG's V series. Take away enough of the defining elements, and LG has to compete with Samsung on price. Why would they do such a silly thing? Samsung has the economy of scale. And Samsung manufactures the necessary Snapdragon chip. Trust me, LG doesn't want to compete with Samsung on price. And that means offering a unique product that the Samsung is too lazy or otherwise unwilling to compete against. That product is the V series.

The big selling points for me for the v20 were the outstanding ess DAC and headphone amplifier, expandable memory, removable battery, quality camera, and IR blaster (in that order). I regularly use my phone as an audio device using my own 24bit audio files. The phone allows for the use of high impedance headphones and has a good audio out performance. This is something you do not find on any other phone...period. If they keep this up I will likely continue using their phones. Audio performance is hands down better than any phone I have ever used. I would not ever consider buying a phone without an audio out jack. Dongles don't cut it. I know my use does not match those of many others, but that is what I like about LG phones (at least the V series).

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2017you've gotta back up that bold claim with reasons. It comes down to personal preference. OLED displays can seem to have overblown colors, with IPS being more true to life. OLEDs are normally more expensive. IPS has on average a much longer screen life. IPS also suffers (on average) less than OLED in image retention or burn in.

OLED has better viewing angles. OLED is more power efficient. Some people like the punchy overblown colors. OLED has a much faster average screen response time (0.1ms vs IPS' up to 4ms).

Some manufacturers have utilized Advanced IPS tech to really close the energy and contrast gaps between the display types...

For example, the 3.5mm jack...what latest tech?... Bluetooth?...it would still be there with the 3.5mm jack, its not a replacement, its a partner...USB?...same thing, except now, you cant charge and listen to music...Modularity has a little ground to stand on, since it is actually "new" and requires extra space in a small device. Consumers are getting swindled, and happily accepting and defending the swindlers...

So...here's a challenge for manufacturers... produce a phone that doesnt require a case - ie.. its drop-proof, water resistant (doesnt need to be totally water proof), but is good for the environment. Has a battery that isn't removable... but easily replaceable with a couple of screws. A phone that has all of the features of the V10/20. I would accept a phone like that if it was purported to last 5 yrs or longer. G4 is good enough as far as data speed goes. A phone that can have its O.S. upgraded easily via a PC. Long story short, produce a phone that is good for the environment, does NOT have built in obsolescence. You might actually find that simply through word-of-mouth and a good fan-base that a phone like that might become so popular that it sets a new benchmark for others to follow? (Say I with a hint of sarcasm!) - not bloody likely! Too focused on profits at the expense of everything.
