So...here's a challenge for manufacturers... produce a phone that doesnt require a case - ie.. its drop-proof, water resistant (doesnt need to be totally water proof), but is good for the environment. Has a battery that isn't removable... but easily replaceable with a couple of screws. A phone that has all of the features of the V10/20. I would accept a phone like that if it was purported to last 5 yrs or longer. G4 is good enough as far as data speed goes. A phone that can have its O.S. upgraded easily via a PC. Long story short, produce a phone that is good for the environment, does NOT have built in obsolescence. You might actually find that simply through word-of-mouth and a good fan-base that a phone like that might become so popular that it sets a new benchmark for others to follow? (Say I with a hint of sarcasm!) - not bloody likely! Too focused on profits at the expense of everything.

AnonD-673674, 03 Jun 2017Yep totally agree. The batteries in all phones - no except... moreGraphene batteries are being researched and prototyped. They are said to last 7x longer with about 7x more capacity.

To all those confused on why people are upset about removable batteries going away:
- Safety, removable batteries are much safer than sealed batteries, all batteries swell a little during use, some can swell excessively, when removable they can pop the back plate off and/or safely disconnect, sealed...can burst.
- Device endurance, The batteries of most devices are the first to go in time. Being able to replace it can make the device last years longer than sealed.
- Device toughness, The battery flying out the back of your phone actually helps in device toughness, it expends a lot of kinetic energy outward, that would normally be pressing onto the internals, or screen
- IP rating, is still achievable with removable batteries...rubber seals go a long way.
Sealed batteries are a product of planned obsolescence thinly veiled by misdirection of IP ratings and "looks". They don't provide anything particularly useful, other than getting devices out of consumer hands for more profit.

I pleaded with Huawei Earnestly to make a smaller size of Mate 9 most certainly 5'5 of display because 6'0 is too big for many and they did. That was fantastic and it was helpful. Please we love this great feature packed phone but make 5'7 for us. with this high screen to body ratio 5'7 will be great for for us. This do not overlook this request. Thank you.

AnonD-673674, 03 Jun 2017Yep totally agree. The batteries in all phones - no except... moreWhole heartedly agree with you. I go further in saying why do we have to have such an expensive delicate product that we can't carry comfortably around in our pockets / bags. Why do I need nice slippery fingerprint magnet glass on the back that I protect by slapping a case on it then I can't see the sleek design. That the screen may get scratches from keys etc in my bag or pocket. Why do I need an infinity screen edge to edge that gets covered when I hold it or when I put this case in it. Reason longevity 2 year lifespan Deccard. They want you to buy another soon for profit screw the planet.

AnonD-205517, 04 Jun 201795 % phones are now has nob-removable battery. What is your... morethe point is, If the battery is removable you can replace it when it starts to swell due to over use of the device. In that way you can save money by buying a new battery rather than a new cellphone.

Phil, 04 Jun 2017Main rumour is that the screen will/hopefully/should be OLE... moreIt will be OLED. The only reason the G6 didn't have it was because they didn't make the displays in time, although now they've already started production.

Alan Townend, 02 Jun 2017I would like a Smartphone that is better than the Galaxy No... moreYep totally agree. The batteries in all phones - no exceptions - lose conditioning within 24months... I'm shit-to-bits with having to replace my phone every two fucking years!
So manufacturers need to lift their game and produce more sustainable products - end-of-story!
We've wrecked this planet enough that gadgets can only last two years! FFS Not good enough. Can you tell I'm pretty pissed off with this? If enough people were to complain, demand (not request but bloody-well DEMAND!) better quality products then someone in manufacturer land would take the lead and do the right thing - if they had any guts.

AnonD-579119, 02 Jun 2017Any phone which comes with an IP68 rating has a non-removab... moreNot entirely true. Samsung S5 is IP67 with a removable battery. Non-removable battery is a new tactic of the big greedy corps to make you replace your phone sooner. If you give a basic care to your phone, your phone will sure last longer than your battery.

I would like a Smartphone that is better than the Galaxy Note 4.
The 30 sounds a decent phone, but it would not handle the amount of us that my Note 4 gets with my five batteries.
I would love to hear one good reason why batteries can't be replaced, would you buy a car if the bonnet was sealed up.
For some reason technology declines for a while until there is some real improvement.
