Underrated phone my ass. Xperia XZ3 is the most underrated phone of 2018.
Don't get me wrong, this is a really good phone, but it's not underrated.

Definitely more interesting than Sony XZ3 in everywhere. I just find stupid that they make 3 cameras.. while they could just make at least 1.3-1.5x on main sensor, which is very possible. And again..why make 2 frontal cameras with NEARLY identical FOV? I can understand like 20-30 degrees difference, but here it doesnt justify itself. Again, you can make a 1.3x on frontal if you really need it... and not make a 4gb ram version at all xD

Whatever I think about this phone, it's the same old you find everywhere.But rather than criticizing the same old: I would spend alot of money on a 5" bezelless screen (no notch), 3,5mm jack, 4500mAh, 1080p OLED Screen, Dual or even single Cam, !no! front cam, !no! stereo speakers, ~SD 710 - and hell, that's not flagship-like 2018...but everything I would love. Why is there no small sized midrange phone with decent design and decent specs anymore? Everything nice is 6"+ with 845, 3000-4000mAh only, no heaphone jack and 800€+, I don't know anyone except myself buying such stupid phones...and I only do because the nex and mix look fantastic compared to anything else.

Only downside would be the notch. At least it is one of the less intrusive ones.

Great 6.4 inch QHD+ OLED display.
Great design (low-bezel front and arrangement of triple cam in the back).
Dual Pixel Autofocus, 1.4 um pixel size and F1.5 aperture main camera.
Superb and useful triple camera combination of extra wide angle and telephoto.
Boombox speaker (could have been stereo though).
Hopefully the battery life is similar to that of the great LG V30 and it's 3300 mAh battery.

GSMArena please review LG V40, I want to know how long the battery last... how good LG in software optimization on their 3,300 mAh battery flagship. I have read a decent battery review on LG V30 but not sure about LG V40
