ploppie, 07 Jun 2020this screen is just tooooo long and not so wide
very clums... moreI actually like the long screen & it is not any narrower than any of the older V series.at least not the V30 or V40 as I have all 3 in my house now & have compared them. The weight can be an issue but its pretty well balanced however the google button does get in the way of holding it in a way that takes advantage of that balance so I disabled it.
This for me is definitely a 2 handed phone but a good part of that is due to my stroke & dispraxia which I have had since birth. I have very poor coordination & would likely drop any phone if I tried to work them one handed.

I have had the V20, V30,V40 & v60. To me the V50 was too much like the V40 to upgrade from. The V60 is definitely an upgrade from the V40 though, especially in the camera department after much testing. I originally bought these for the DAC then later on the cameras plus the ability to add storage.
The V60 is definitely a chunky device both size & weight but also comes with great battery life unlike the V20 which was worst of the one I have owned but battery was replaceable which none of the others are easily replaceable. Each of the later versions was an upgrade in cameras over the last though not always in every way. Overall the V60 represents the best in cameras of the V series so far & still represents the best in sound overall both speakers & headphones.

Maybe you can take a look for a while, Sir.

Sepfian, 07 Jun 2020So, this V60 is not the best of LG in your opinion, Sir?
... moreWell maybe yes, but no
They are focusing on bringing basically all that you really NEED as a power user at a price lower than most flagships in 2020 (cause oh boy are these prices getting ridiculous)
One one hand, you get:
-A new 64MP cam bringing 8K video
-A new ToF sensor for portrait (and maybe portrait video I'm not sure)
-A bigger battery and with that comes faster charging at 25W
-A bigger display (a minus for me)
-A new 10MP selfie w/ PDAF bringing stabilized 4K@60 selfie video to the table
-stylus support (I doubt that's new, but the thing about LG's is itnworks with other 3rd party stylus pens
On the other hand, you're losing:
-QHD+ display (and it seems dolby vision is gone too)
-Ultrawide sensor from V50
-telephoto cam cause the V60 crops in
And that's about it

Sepfian, 07 Jun 2020What is the spesific one of G8, Sir? Features of G8 that stand out to me are:
Compact 6.1" QHD+ display (meaning it's gonna be pixel dense)
3D ToF cameras for face & palm ID (and maybe also portraits)
1080p@60 selfie video (seriously!! Some top tier thousand dollar flagship phone can't even put that, let alone 4K selfie video!)
Rest of specs are on G8 spec sheet link down below

Germanium, 29 May 2020A little more research & it appears that the IMX686 doe... moreLooking back into the issue of dual pixel PDAF the OV64C does not actually use DP-PDAF. The use a single lens that covers 4 pixels on dedicated focus pixels that do not add to the visual content where as DP-PDAF uses all pixels for both focus & visual content. A 50MP sensor with DP-PDAF actually has 100 MP worth of pixels. A 50MP DP-PDAF sensor could actually take 100MP photos & that is actually advertised in one case.

V 60 was supposed to be a resolution of 1440p for such a flagship

I found the autofocus mechanism of the Samsung GW1 to be exactly the seams as on the IMX686. According to Juan Bagnell the V60 does use the Samsung GW1. I don't know how he found out but apparently he did. I couldn't find any program that could find that out, even those that reveal that information on other devices. LG hid it well.

Craddan, 01 Jun 20205000mahI don't know if you had 4g active at time but with 4g on the V60 active & in use i get 10.5 to 11.5 hours screen on time. This drops to 8.5 with 5g active & in use. Have not tested without using network. But really good battery life when cell is on use & should be considerably better when not being used such as playing movies stored on device. I have 160 DVD quality movies as well as 30 blue ray quality movies on my V60 using a microsd card. Bit not had chance to really test this as I would likely not last as long as the phone would.

Also I could not find the v60 on any of the lists for Samsung or Sony camera sensor phone lists & the Sony listings were made November 2019 which it should have been known at that time if it was going to have the Sony sensor due to manufacturing would have been in full swing by then. This also points to the possible use of the OV64C sensor as it has the same specs as the IMX686 except for the OV64C having DP-PDAF & the IMX686 doesn't. I could not find any list of phones that use the OV64C.

There is so many sites with conflicting specification information that it makes it difficult to find the truth without someone actually tearing down the camera sensor itself.
