LG V60 ThinQ 5G hands-on review

Dual Screen

The Dual Screen accessory has been improved upon as well. It's the same 6.8-inch OLED screen, but LG was able to increase the maximum brightness even further, compared to the old generation, but compared yto the V50's Dual Screen, there is no secondary battery built into this one.

Design-wise, the Dual Screen case offers a couple of improvements. For instance, the magnet connector is stronger and easier to use, while the texture on the outside is grippy and pleasant. It feels nicer than before. It's important to note, however, that the Dual Screen accessory isn't water-proof like the device itself.

The attachment makes the phone bulkier than it already is but on the plus side, you don't need to keep it on the phone all the time.

The best part is that LG recognizes its past mistake with the Dual Screen. With the previous implementations of the idea, the accessory had to be purchased separately, or bundled in a special edition of the phone for a higher price. By offering the accessory free of charge with V60, LG now has a clear advantage over its competitors if you are looking for that dual-screen experience, of course.

Early verdict

It's too early to tell whether the LG V60 ThinQ 5G (well, that's a mouthful) has all that it takes to stand its ground against its direct rivals. However, with the decision to offer the Dual Screen accessory bundled with the phone, LG is making sure the history doesn't repeat itself - remember the LG G5 with all the mods, which you had to purchase separately, and they were all pricey? Well, the V60's main advantage will come within the box.

But is it enough to persuade potential buyers? As always, the answer is no. The V60 still has the hard task to stand out from the competition with excellent camera performance, great display, and long battery life. The latter looks achievable with the significant bump to the 5,000 mAh unit, but we will know for sure once we have our hands on one of those and test it out extensively. Even with a sub-$1000 price tag, the V60 has a lot of proving to do.

this phone is only available in the US? that bad! LG, You are losing buyers because of your poor distribution and selling policy. the latest model available in my country is the V40 c'mon! It is your fault...

So LG. When are you going to allow others around the world to purchase this? I'm in Australia, really would like it but your distribution truly sucks!
