It's a great phone but it's a little bit pricey... It would have been better if the price is reduced.

Bart, 10 May 2020They are aiming for new customers but what they are doing i... moreDo you think these smartphone manufacturers are crazy pumping out one after the other big screen phones? I mean a bigger display will always cost more to the manufacturer than a smaller one.
Or due you think there is a real demand for big display phones and only after doing proper market surveys all top manufacturers are making big display phones?
Personal I believe they do not care about old or new customers. They only care about better revenue.. so if the marketing team says make a bigger phone because their is where money is .. they make bigger phones.
And in return they are indirectly indicating those customers who always complain about bigger phones to be better prepared to use both hands.

They are aiming for new customers but what they are doing is leaving those they already got.
G7 was small enough (not ideal, but acceptable to me at least), G8 as well, now the succesor is too big, has a worse screen and no DAC.
Basically all the people who bought G7 and G8 went for DAC and decent screen phone.
Camera was never too good in these,in the manual mode it was (but honestly who uses that mode everyday?).
Now they made Velvet too big, no DAC, bad screen but big battery. How is that a tradeoff for almost the same price as G8?
They lost customers who went for G7 and G8 because V series was bigger than their pocket, these customers won't switch to V60. Great job LG, all You had to add was a good DAC and the thing would be considerable despite the size.

Shut it guys, it's a great phone, much better than the ugly looking V60.
In terms of price, yeah it's a ripoff, but it's still a good phone, per se.
Doesn't seem to have a dedicated DAC though, which is unfortunate.

piggy99, 07 May 2020New LG phones? Want it cheap? Dont worry. It will drop 50%... moreLG has gone and done just that. Velvet does not come with their QuadDAC just like LG G8s available in our country. It seems LG new management is not that much focussed on audio, even their new models with QuadDAC does not feature native DSD and MQA support.

Peter UK, 01 May 2020I guess they made it thinest possible while still owning a ... moreThat honor goes to Vivo X5Max of 2015. Just 5.1mm in thickness with 3.5 mm audio jack with audiophile grade audio quality. I own one. Great build quality and a very premium device with less than average battery backup due to small battery.
LG Velvet is fat in comparison to X5Max at 7.9mm. I won't complain as LG has a much bigger battery.

Seems like the phone has it's own built-in Tasker. Well, a few tasker/automated functions were shown.

Bane, 09 May 2020Its too expensive i can buy for exactly the same money S20+... moreYour S20 has no dual monitor support, is more expensive in Korea compared to this as well as, no headphone jack as well as an unfixable camera hardware problem.

Bane, 09 May 2020Its too expensive i can buy for exactly the same money S20+... moreThese things have launch promos for early adopters so it does not look expensive for them. And paid in monthly plans, not one time pay.
And if you're in Korea, you're screwed if you're looking for 3.5mm jack phones with proper after sales support/service shops. It's LG and midrange Samsungs for you.

Its too expensive i can buy for exactly the same money S20+ WTF ? Even no chance and point to compare this 2 phone. LG whyy? If you want to catch again the fans of this brand and make a big bang with your return on the world phone market, please rething your price politics. This should be mid-range phone even if i compare it with samsung galaxy s10 lite still lose. Now S10 lite is under 500 euros. Think , Think, Think minimum 3 times before to make a next big mistake.

Would have bought and put up with sealed battery if only they had bundled the dual monitor with current price. But ha, just wait. At least on the removable battery side, there's that 2020 model from Samsung.

for 680 euro, this is definitely on the expensive side of the market but more than that its sales figures depend on how good the software is and how fast the updates will be plus how good the camera is.
