Fend, 21 Jan 2016You guys recommend me to buy this phone? Really need some helpif you're looking for a budget phone yet performs more than its worth, it is the one. this phone can out perform lots of high priced phones from samsung, lg, oppo, huawei and etc. but if you're looking for android vanilla experience, this one is not for you.

just make sure to back up everything, and google apps won't be pre-installed but you can download googleinstaller from meizu appstore.

I've upgraded to the latest FlyMe (beta) and things look a bit better for now. However, there are some new issues now. It looks like the WiFi gets stuck or just drops in some idle mode. I am running few apps that should always run and should be able to receive push notifications. When I send a notification to a phone, it doesn't receive it. However, if I restart WiFi (disable and enable it back), the notification is received. I wonder if there is a cure for that.
Other things look more stable so I will give it a try for a bit more. Unfortunately, I still wouldn't be able to get myself buying another Meizu again.

The latest update 5.XX.29 beta is super update, all the keyboard typing issues are gone and rom is super smooth. I didn't come across any bugs in this, but waiting for stable version and marshmallow.

It looks like it's hit and miss with this phone. I've got mine few months after it was released, and I'm having constant problems with it. It worked properly for some time after buying it, but then contacts started having problems. It wouldn't load contacts list for few minutes (sometimes it even required phone reboot to load it). Then it started having problems with calls, as it wouldn't show me the call at all (it would ring though) and I had no way of accepting the call. I would see it few minutes after the call ended and would then be able to call the caller back.
After upgrading to the latest FlyMe and Android 5.1, calls became better, but there are still issues with contacts. It takes ages to load it, and due to that, I am not able to see who's calling me (it's showing only a number). Because of that, custom ring tones for people in my contacts list do not work and I have the same tone for everyone. I have noticed that IO'm not the only one reporting that problem.
The last thing I'm having problems with, and haven't seen anyone reporting that, is that the phone keeps killing my running apps. I have few apps that I need to always run in background, but the phone kills them few minutes after I close it. I am running it in the best performance mode and have whitelisted these apps, but it didn't help. The phone keeps killing them.
Unfortunately, this phone does not kick it for me and I will have to buy a new one. I wanted to give Meizu a chance, but I won't risk with them anymore. I need a stable working phone for my work and it looks like I'll have to go with some better brand again.

Flyme 5 is just amazing. It increase the performance tremendously. It is silky smooth.
