Nick, I faced similar prob. Reason was battery was very low also the environment was too cold (initial weeks of January 2014).
I gave warmth and charge. After some 1 - 2 Hours of charging with keeping my mobile on a table under a blanket, it turned on successfully and this problem has not returned afterwards.
I have narrated my experience.Not sure about your problem.

hanging problem ...always hangs while charging and headphone is connected ..

hey i got a problem that i am using canvass hd a116
actually thee probs was my phone not getting on when i on my cell phone i kept the charge in 43 percent then and is switch off my phone then i switch on next day the phone was not onning just a blank flash idont no the reason if any one no say the reason which will be very helpful

Viper, 09 Jan 2014It's normal yaar. don't worry..Actually it's not normal.I called micromax customer care and they confirmed me that in genuine a116i model, it will be written as a116i in the model number. I even checked it up i my friends phone.so if it is not written as a116i, then its not a genuine products.To all my friends who have purchased a116i online, beware...there is a lot of fraudulence going around in this matter. I am a victim of it, but i got my phone replaced.

monika, 18 Jan 2014dear dh 116 very awesome cell..but unluckly if any kind of ... moremmx is a very good service center every time there is 70 to 80 ppl have a problem in handset if u going to service center pls go on weekoff it will take alest a 4 hours for ur turn

tofail, 13 Jan 2014my canvas hd was locked, due to several wrong pattern input... moreThe same problm i faced in my micromax A67.
Whn i went to the service center they charged 250 to update software instead the ph having 11 mnths warrenty pending.
