I am impressed with this phone.However I am abit concerned about it's OS. I am a Microsoft user and from time to time I will be syncronizing my PC with my phone. Is this a big Problem?

it a real smartphone with a good cpu speed
its better than p990. camera is not important for me but it play great sound in handsfree it can open pdf files with very good speed .it is slim, beautiful and with user friendly menu

Hi People
I have been a O2 user till recently it died on me (Yes it is true!!!) Theauthorised service centre in india is Accel and they spoiled the phone to a extent that the phone does not even take the OS any longer.
Sigh!!!!!
Anyway am now in the market for a PDA phone (any but the O2).
I liked the Ming but did not want to buy coz it has no edit feature for Word Xcel etc.
However I was told recently that there is a utility I can download for the net for editing word/ Excel do u have any idea about the same?
Also how is the compatibitity with outlook 2003 using OWA/ OMA.
Any other input is also welcome

i had this phone for almost a year now, yes you can use ringtones from your memory card which is a plus, i say the only problem is the music volume since its pretty low, all you people that have problems? i havent had any problems with my phone like you guys had. i suggest you buy the phone if you dont care about the music volume

iam from kashmir iam really thankfull to motorola company for this unique and precious model motoming ts really a good mobile but one bad feature low volume plz give us some software to increase its volume

Hi...im planning to buy Moto A1200. Is it capable of transfering sms to the PC? Im using Sony Ericson and Ive no probs with saving all my sms because they are important to me. Does Moto Ming also support that function? If yes, are the details (ex. time/day the msgs was sent) of the msg can also be saved? Can this mobile phone also record long phone conversations? I hope someone can answer..

The phone seems to be pretty cool, I bought mine in Beijing, China; however for some reason my phone does not register a connection when I connect the USB to the computer. Does this mean my phone is bootlegged? What can I do to fix this problem ?

I had the same problem as you have but I considered it as follow:
With A1200 you get a sexy smart phone,I know it's temting but whats the use when you can't find new softs for linux?
It just makes the battery loose and may halt responding in some conditions!
Everyone knows motorola has problem with it's UI and now they have linux on this to overcome prices!
I don't know if the screen sleeps every now and then but for sure you will have problem opening the flip every time you get a call,no button to open it for you!
Shouldn't we think that this is primary a cell phone?
On the other hand there is sleek D900 with plenty of features you can find for a cell phone exept the OS and thus the ability of customization like those smarts,with a gorgeous disply you will have more than what you need!Plus that this one even works better with email clients!
Sticking to those primary functions and knowing of it's good call quality I went for D900!

whats the use of a pda when it can't neither install new softwares nor sync with outlook?
but it can delay on responding for sure.
i remember a1000 used symbian but why they have had linux on this?
