i just got this phone a week ago and i think is good so far! but the camera its 2.0mp and i think is not that good, i had a samsung sony eric, with only 1.3mp before and it took better pics than this phone.however is good pn everything else. i work for cingular, so i cant show off my phone when i am on the floor.but is a good buy so far! lookinh forward for sony eric p990i

the front cover is abt hard to open.
either tt or my fingers are too fat, too wide and too flat. ahaha.

Is anyone having trouble installing the software CD (motorola phone tools) to the computer? I just want to transfer my mp3 ringtone to the phone and I don't have the bluetooth capability on my laptop. Could anybody help me with transfering mp3 to the phone or installing the software to the laptop? I thought it would be easy since you just need to plug in the cd and that's it. Thanks a lot.

I know I can create a category/group for my contact list. Does anybody know how to assign a ringtone to a group so that I don't have to assign one by one?

this phone use microSD, it's not Memory stick, you'll have to buy transflash or microSD card, Memory Stick use for Sony Ecrison only

i am facing problems with blue tooth. i cannot dial from my laptop through blue tooth. i had bought local adaptor . can anyone help me connecting it through PC(for internet)

I am unable to use the memory stick .....Is there an option from where i have to enable it. I have a memory of 512 but so far i am unable to use that and having memory issues.

Someone please help answer this question, does this phone a have talking caller id which works without the names and numbers having to be first be recorded. I have an LG phone which goes into "driving mode" so when a call comes in, it will either announce the name (assuming the name is stored in my contact list) or the phone number (if the name is not stored in my list) all in an automated voice. It is the best feature when you are deciding whether or not to run for your phone!

Try to buy A1200i not A1200. It has activy sync and more than 300 bugs fixed. Amazing and fantastic phone!

i am just waiting for a unit and am buying this phone, i prefer black color. i know this is not 3G. it's okay for me since i can access the internet at my office. for the video call, fine if i don't have it yet coz most of my contacts don't use it yet. Still expensive! So... i am looking for the bluetooth remote control functions (for computer or projectors) as i have in my SE S700i. Does this have it?
Second, i also plan to buy the Bluetooth Stereo Headset HT-xxx ( i forgot the model name!) i need some feedbacks from you guys!

It is a good phone in among the other models in the same category(linux OS is good thing), performance & style... faster than M600i....but lacks real keypad

Hi. I just got this phone and it is great so far. Just one problem, when I make a call, it keeps prompting "Call Control is allowed". what does this mean? how do i get rid of this prompt? it just adds an extra step for me when i try to make a call. any help would be great. thanks

Hi, I bought this phone 2 weeks ago. Main prob i was anticipating was Battery. For me it is ok. If you use features on an average mode, it will last for 2 days. (Like not hearing mp3 for long, etc). I think FM on speaker eats up a lot.
Next was ring tone. MP3 ringtones are too low. I tried amplifying the mp3 file etc, but MING wont play beyond a level. But for MIDI files, it is loud enough. There is a MIDI file they supply with Software. It is good for me. MIDI in phone is pathetic.
Another thing is u will not get to recent calls fast enough as other mobiles mainly nokia and Sony Er. U have to do atleast 3- 4 clicks to get there.
Few thing i like it u can use Remote PC option where u can do presentation. (U have to download the software though.) You can record the phone calls. Business Card reader. Camera is good but if there is bad light, then gone. Touch screen is excellent, i can type name with even with my finger.
On the whole, i like my phone. It is cool to have one when around friends and u get a call.

Agreed with previous post regarding using the provided handsfree headphone for conversation. The other end seems to be unable to hear me all the time. The photos turn out to be okie.. however, once taken the pic u need to hold the phone still.. as it is like 2-3 secs slow, cathing the exact moment is hard... more to say about this phone but busy right now... *back to work*

I bought this phone since July 2006. I love this phone but after using it for several months, I found some minor problems.
1) When I use the speaker phone, bluetooth headset and ear headsets, sometimes the other end seem to be unable to hear me clearly. So do I. The worse is to use the ear headsets.
2) It cannot edit Word, Excel files. It can only view them.
3) I'm still unable to find a way to change the "Tasks" alert tone. It's been defaulted to a tone that I dislike.
4) Not enough words in the dictionary.
5) This phone has no Converter.
6) Ringtones not loud enough.
7) Speed to load applications is a bit slow comparing with other phones that use Microsoft Mobile OS.
8) Lack of firmware to download
9) Battery does not last long. I have 2 spare batteries
Pros about this phone:
1) Excellent camera with excellent marco mode.
2) Excellent body design. Good size for girl's hands. Light weight.
3) Very sensitive hand writing reconition
4) It has flight mode, that you can turn off the antenna
5) It has FM radio
6) Good size of screen
7) It's got almost everything a smartphone has
Conclusion
I still love my phone. Hope Motorola is able to provide more services/software to download.
