Any one need to set up network and email/MMS get the manuals first, go to: http://www.motorola.com.hk/eng/mot_product/a1200/MING_English_User_Manaul.pdf
and look on pages 99 to 101, then go to: http://importgsm.com/pages.php?pageid=23

Well...overall very satisfy.
but there are minor things which i would like to see improved.
1] improve battery life. ( the battery level indicator only shows 100%, 50% and 0) So far I have not seen the battery indicator reading on 80% or something like that. May be I just missed it.
2] Internal Memory must be improved. 8 MB is just barely.
3] Is there a way to improve the battery consumption?? The battery just drop crazy if I use the blue tooth!!!

Is it possible to review the PC software for the A1200 before I purchase the phone? Can I download it from somewhere?
Can I import vCards that I have exported from MS Outlook? How many names can the phone book hold?
Does this phone cost less in China? or Hong Kong?

I work at the cell phone place. Based on my knowledge about cell phones. This one is great for it size and price are reasonable. I don't think there is a perfect phone out there. If it have all the feature we want then either it too big or ugly. A1200 is a very great phone. Plus who will spend over 30 minutes watching movie on the phone? Most is just mp3 and radio during break time or work out. This is the smallest phone out there that is pda and has 2.0MP w/ external memory. No complaint. I like it... hope for the i version to come out w/ more internal memory. I be good.

it looks better and has better camera than e680i which i owned. however, given the burden of running all those nice features, the 4-hr talk time battery life for A1200 is still too short. moreover, internalizing the T-flash/mini-SD card storage lot is a bad bad move. quite inconvenient for heavy users; turning the phone off and taking the battery out to get the card is time consuming, troublesome, and dangerous for travellers. e680i is alot more flexible.

I just got this two days ago. It's pretty amazing in the looks, the OS, just still a bit confusing. I used to have an Palm based phone and have been using a V3 Razr for over a year now. So, not quite adjusted to more complex functionality. The major issue in my everyday habits is being able to write text messages while driving. Next to impossible now whereas with a keypad using T9 it was no look.
Couple of things so far. Since I got this from China Town in NYC, price was awesome. The night I was going to get it they had just closed their warehouse. Next day, showed up again, and they just received a small shipment but somehow the popularity had just gone up. And so had the price, to $550. I still got their honored quote of $523 from the day before. Back to functions. Gotta get an app that monitors all currently running programs. Everything eventually remains active and memory gets low forcing you to quit certain tasks such as media player or camera. Appears that you close it but it just gets you back to the menu and the app remains on. Voice recognition is great, in that you don't have to train it. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself. Cool thing is if you say a name, then if it has more than one number, the male voice will ask you mobile or home or whatever. You then choose those as well. Great, but the annoying thing is that it takes forever between pressing the voice button and actually being able to speak. "Please say a command or name!" then the speak tone. You speak, it confirms the answer. You say yes, then it asks mobile or home or whatever, you say, it confirms once again. then dial. A minute from intitation, you're on the phone talking. Just needs a quick speak improvement. I've still gotta get used to the handwriting, pretty responsive but I wish you could write entire words at once rather than waiting for one letter at a time. Good word anticipation feature with the T9. But all of that is just minor. Gotta start getting some media onto the 512MB Transflash card it came with. Bluetooth isn't yet compatible with my Macs, so here's to hoping soon for syncing and file transfer. Because the USB mode doesn't see the memory, and in order to fill that from the computer, you've got to turn off, remove battery just to get to the card. Should have been a slot, as it does have an eject card setting in the menus. Came with the SD adapter, great.
But the biggest thing I maybe can't find the menu for or maybe it's a hack that'll have to be installed is closing the flip when on speaker still hangs up. Should stay active unless it was a non speaker call. I can turn off flip open to answer but no feature present for the close. Bummer, as I'm used to just closing my Razr to continue a conversation. Great phone which everyone at work ooh, ahh'd over all day yesterday. Got the white as I need glossy and the black is matte finish. Glossy would have been perfect. Oh well, go get it!
