SEX1, 22 Jan 2009You are wrong. X1 is better than A3100.Yes! Thats why they postponed its oficcial day that was supposed to come out? X1 was found to have problems with its OS and they returned back the first time. After a while they fixed that problem though. Is SE really trustful?

Motorola has decided to release it in Europe somewhere in Q3 or Q4 2009, so don't expect it soon. It's mostly targeted to China and Australia so we must hope Motorola release some other nice smartphones for the European marked, hopefully the Motorola Flash but i doubt it...

I just thought of sharing with you guys on my experience with Windows Mobile PDA phone.
Way back in year 2001, my first PDA was Palm V, switched to Compaq 3850 about 6 months later as Windows Mobile 2002 came into the market. I was very much impressed with Windows at that time, the display graphics, the calendar / reminder function, Notes, To do list, handwriting recognitions was much better than Palm's (eventhough I was already used to Palm's style). Switched to O2 XDA 1 in 2002, the first Windows based PDA that comes with built in phone. It was cool, turning heads whenever I was using it with the stylus. At that time, it was rumored to be better than the Nokia 9210i Communicator.
Fast forward a bit, since then I have used HP 6365, O2 Xda IIs, Nokia 9210i Communicator, Dopod 818 pro, Dopod 900 and now Asus P735, considered not many by some people’s standard. Everytime I switched, I realized I fell into retailers’ pitch, new Windows Mobile version (WM 2002 to WM 2003 SE, WM 5, WM 6.0), additional RAM, better camera and so on. Today, with my Asus P735, which was launched in 2007, the 500 Mhz “Turbo” processor, 256 ROM, Mini SD card storage, Wifi, 3G (again, NEVER used), GPS, Bluetooth and WM 6.0 – the specs aren’t too far from today’s high end WM PDA Phones in the market, in fact, it’s better than some of today’s PDA phones which are running on 200 Mhz or 400 Mhz processors.

I’m sure many readers here have experienced Windows Mobile before so for those who are just coming to it now, I would say you are either going to love it or hate it. There’s no right or wrong here, just personal preferences. For me, if given a choice to choose only one phone between a WM PDA phone or a “normal” non-PDA phone, I’ll go for a WM PDA phone anytime. The features are complete as stated above, only thing is you’ll need an additional charger, USB PC cable charger, car charger or travel charger. Eventhough most of this thing has over 1000Mah battery in it, it’ll drain fast if you’ve many features running at once. For example, I’ll have my Bluetooth on while connected to a wifi spot surfing and at times I’ll update my worldwide news channels like International Herald Tribune, CNET news, PC World, AFP World news for reading pleasure. Incredible feature without having to pay a single cent!!. I can sync Words doc. And Excel xls files, client’s quotations, correspondences into this pocket PC for reference or editing anytime, even include them as attachment in emails using this device too. I also loved the calendar / reminder as it has various snoozing options and very organized viewing options. Screen’s bigger so viewing videos is clearer and software availability – so many there’re unaccountable. On the other hand, many dislike PDA phones for their size especially the earlier models where the bigger ones have 3.6 inches screen but believe me, the text size, graphics and icons were all well displayed. I always tell my friends that having this device is like having a secretary with you 24/7 without having the headache of annual raise, bonuses and listening to their complaints.

Lastly, I still love my ROKR E8 and previous V8 with Linux but for me these phones are dedicated specifically for calling and answering calls because of their impressive Crystaltalk feature, other than that my current WM PDA phone is doing all the other tasks that have contributed or enhanced my work productivity all this while. So for Motorola’s A3100, I’d say good work from Moto, might need to reduce it’s selling price in order to compete with other established brands for now.

OK. Friends , it's been 5 days since i last visited this site and i still didn't catch it. Why are you making such a deal about the colors of this phone. I didn't even undertand who supports it and who doesn't. I hardly recomment you to see any of the videos about this phone in youtube. They may not be so so satisfying but you can see that this phone rocks!!! I don't care about the colors or the resolution because the fact that it has new moded windows mobile skin makes it special for me. One inovation per time!!!!

A 16 M display on a 240x320 resolution can be defeated with a 565 K display on 640x480 pixel resolution.

The Mitac MIO A502 and the Samsung i740 were apparently never released. The LG Incite was the only one released but it claims to have 256K colors (65K effective), whatever that means.

I've had the K850i (256k) then it broke and i bought Nokia 5610 (16M) and the very first thing i notice about the phone is the screen is GORGEOUS!! the color depth is much much better. I didnt compare the 2 phones side by side since my K850i broke so bad i couldnt. But i can totally tell the color difference.
