Hi, A780's Just upgraded to this phone (on o2-UK)and so find it very nice in many ways,however I cant find the voice command feature anywhere on the phone or manual and also having problems viewing power point files and wmv files. Any help anyone?! Cheers.

    Sax Man,

    I wish I could help you with some of that stuff. I use the phone as an mp3, pda, phone (over 2000 minutes a month) more than anything else.

    wat cool things do u do with ur phone that i can try?
    I installed eMSN but haven't messed with it.

    any cool programs? i only got like 7/8 games (I NEED BEJEWELLED BADDDDDDLY). also,

    can u change the skin of the on screen phone pad?
    Do you mean the background? if so yes you can
    change it in Setup ->Wallpaper.

    What does STK in the menu mean?
    Sim Card apps.

    What does VPN mean?
    Virtual Private Network. This is something I would like to get working with my Employer's network B/C of security I need to connect to the VPN to check email but the VPN software does not use our encryption.


    How the hell i get rid of the dumb hong kong games in my phone?
    You can click on the game and hold it stylus down until you get the menu and say uninstall.

      SSK,

      Yes it does. I have one on my right now. When the phone came out there wasn't a 512MB transflash (Micro SD) that might be the confusion.

        hello,

        motoA780 is the hightech phone i ever had...
        but there are some problems i've encounter and yet i've haven't find way to solve it...

        1.How can i get applications on getjar.com if my moto is not listed,which model do i search for because the a780 is not listed?

        2.how can i registered in mymobilesoft.com
        if my country code(taiwan 886) doesnt seem to be listed, only Hk(852)?

        3. my sms/mms always hangup, specially when deleted messages, how can i fix it?

        Please HELP me...

          A780 concept still had a bright future if moto continue to add extra spects like wifi, real time video recording and card slot support full SD or MMC.

            I just bought this phone and was wondering if it supports a 512 mb transflash card. I have read on some sites that it doesn't but i want to make sure

              If a PC doesnt have net connection, how can i access the net using my a780? TRIED MESSIN ROUND WIT IT BUT TO NO AVAIL.

                  Cingular Settings (you need to set your internet network profile first; see cingular settings in previous posting)

                  for MMS do as follows:

                  1. Goto Message Main Page
                  2. Open Menu
                  3. Service Setup
                  4. Multimedia Message
                  5. Edit a new Profile with the following setting

                  6. Expire After: Maximum

                  9. DON'T Check not when roaming (because when you use a non-Cingular phone system will think you are always ROAMING)

                  Send Setup:
                  Server:66.102.164.222 (cwmx.com)
                  Port: 25
                  email: username@mycingular.com
                  NickName: I guess, if you would like to change the default email address on your message
                  Authentication:On
                  Same as receive Setup (if you are using the same server to receive check this otherwise uncheck and put your credentials.

                  Receive Setup: Same approach. the most import thing is to use IP Address instead of server name.

                    Herm,
                    yea I have Cingular. Phone start to ring low then the volume increase. Still having trouble with my browser. Can't send pic or recieve. MMS is not working at all

                        Hey everyone, if you are getting apps from getjar.com, select A768 as your phone of choice. All A768 apps work perfectly with A780. For some apps, though, the absence of an off-screen keypad posses a problem. It's a trial & error thing.

                        You can only use ur phone 4 Yahoo mail if u suscribe to their POP mail. For MSN, just call their 1800 number. BTW, There are apps at getjar.com for password-protecting files/folders on your A780.

                        Random as hell: you can get software from download.com to convert any video file to MPEG-4 format (readable on the A780).

                          Herm,
                          Seems I can't have this feature as I have CoPilot software pre-installed. Bit of a pisser as it's one of the features I chose this phone for - that and the SatNav. Trying to resolve the issue with Motorola/ALK/BT Mobile at the moment so I'll post again when I have a proper answer

                              I still can't get my browser to work. This is pissing me off big time. This is a HK phone, but I don't think that it has nothing to do with it. I need to know EVERYTHING you know on this phone (service in Atlanta). And how do I get this damn phone to ring normal?! LOL

                                So far I can only protect a transflash card not the folders. From GetJar you can select apps based on the phone resolution 320x240 or below.

                                    Jeff,

                                    For starters the A780 is a world phone. The V3x has a better Camera, 24MB more memory and it's a 3G phone (higher inet speed, where service is avail). Not sure about the apps, you will have to check that out. I can tell you that after 1.5 months and still in love with my phone.

                                        Ken, here is the setting for T-Zones.....it's worked for every A780, Razr, V600 or wateva phone I've had. Any problems, lemme know. BTW, it works for web and picture messaging.

                                        Go to Setup, click on Data Network, Open the lower left menu and select New ...

                                        Profile Name: T-Zones GPRS
                                        APN: wap.voicestream.com
                                        Timeout: Off (both timeout fields)
                                        Baud Rate: Auto
                                        Line Type: Modem

                                        That is it...leave every other field empty, don't put any other info in. No DNS servers or CSD settings.

                                        Opera works best for T-Zones (not Opera-mini). There is a new Opera version at Opera.com. PLENTY of apps @ getjar.com.

                                        MOTO A1200 IS TERRIBLE.....YUCK!!!
