You do not need 2 accounts to use this phone. The phone works on the CDMA in the US, and switches over automatically to GMS outside of the USA. You can buy it on Verizon Wireless if you go to the international phone page of their website. The explain how everything works. The users guide is available at motorola.com.

Just tried to setup up one of these phones for gsm. All menu options are locked out for GSM. No MMS or GPRS. Pretty crappy for a world phone. 4 thumbs down.

we have only just got this phone here in oz and i agree with L.A Guy on some things but i do believe you can use these handsets on both GSM and CDMA networks but you must have 2 seperate accounts to do this which could be quite expensive....

The 1.2 megapixel camera feature is totally useless, since the phone doesn't have BT or InfraRed and the USB cable costs about 60$. For comparision, Nokia provides USB cable for free with the new phone

If you go to the motorola website and look at the page for this phone, it says nothing about a video capture/playback feature... Also, the megapixel is 1.2, not 1.3. The info above is not completely accurate. For a more thorough overview, I suggest checking the full feature spec's at hellmoto.

There is a lot of confusion with this phone. It is a CDMA phone for the U.S. (Verizon specifically). The GSM side is for International use (outside U.S.). You cannot use both CDMA/GSM at the same time. It will NOT work with T-Mobile, Cingular/AT&T, or any other GSM provider. Vodafone provides the International GSM coverage.
The phone is CDMA primarily, and GSM secondary. It was made specifically for U.S. CDMA providers. It is NOT the V710. It looks almost identical, though. It is 800(850)/1900 mhz for U.S. and 900/1800 for everywhere else.
It is currently only available to Business clients of Verizon. There has been no public release as of yet. Verizon also carries the Samsung SCH-A790, which is also a CDMA/GSM Global phone. Hope this info helps.
