the motorola v710 only does cdma. the motorola a840 does cdma and euro gsm.

don't get stuck with a piece of junk. get a different brand of cell phone if you are smart shopper. motorola phone are infested with defects and eventually stops working. don't waste your money and pick another brand

I don't know why motorola phones don't ring very loud. I use C350 but the ringing volume and talking volume is very low

I think A840 is the series for people in European countries whereas in the states the series no. change to v710!! trust me it's completely the same mobile. Oh I just realise that AT&T sells the phone now!!

check www.motorola.com and then search v710!! and it will appear there a few informations for the phone!! I am not sure about the stores!! I am sorry I only know that the motorola website sells it!! it's $389usd!

hey Justin it's already out in the states. just keep checking the motorola website! they sell it online too!! but you have to be quick coz they are always sold out!

Here is the problems boys and girls. Motorola as well as many other manufacturers used to, I stress used to, make good phones. Unfortunately, the Startac was about the end for Motorola. The Chinese made junk they have now doesn't compare to the PHONE ABILITY of the old Analog DPC phones or even the old "Banana Phone". The cell phone demand, much like everything else, has gone consumer rather than prosumer, or even Business. They are making their phones for $6.00 each so they can sell 20 million of them to every little boy and girl in Junior High and above. Their marketing is simple, sell 20 million $50 phones or sell 1 million $300 PHONES. The phones are no longer phones, they are POS cameras, they have 5000 ringtones, they have games, color screens, etc., what they don't have is a good RF unit, the part that actually makes and receives phone calls, you know, what they were supposed to do in the first place. I recently turned off my V60P and V60S, and bought a digital Star Tac on Ebay. Last of the good motorolas, and it is very doubtful that the A840 will be any better. It is just a 710 with GSM, an d we all know what a prize those were/are!

When will this available for purchase anyplace? Can you have a number on Verizon and then an additional number on the SIM for when in Europe so airtime charges aren't so expensive?
