A very good phone. Handy to use. Battery life and screen size should be more. But i can easily watch videos by half flipped position ! OS upgrade is a big problem but still i am very satisfied with the set ........

Backflip it took me 2 days after i got it to realise that I am in for a looong ride I still havent figured out how to transfer files via bluetooth, I cant make a video call or dnt know how and my P1i is busted.

Motorola's website says this phone is no longer getting the 2.1 update for Asia/Pacific region. Is there a way that I can still get it even if its not officialy released?

Phone can be exchanged within 7 days regardless of any problem. After that, the warranty covers a committment of service within 4 hours. (used to be 1 hour before Apr this year!)
So most people, in case something goes wrong, drop off the phone (which, BTW, takes no more than 5 mins, unlike at least an hour like the almighty brand), go out for shopping (as the service center is in the heart of the shopping area), have a drink / lunch, and there goes your phone.

more than a week now guys motorola has still not resolved my prob. of the backflip. even the regional manager has been of no help.
he dosent even pick up the phone calls or keeps his phone switched off.
THINK BEFORE U BUY ANY PRODUCT OF NOTOROLA espically BACKFLIP.
they suck at quality and their work

I've had this phone for about a month now. My take on it is:
Look and feel: Bulky and heavy, metal finishing. The touch is extremely sensitive and responsive. The model I have is a full black finishing and looks good.
The qwerty keyboard is a feather touch one and is not easy to get used to. I use the onscreen keyboard more often
Camera and audio: Very very ordinary. The camera has no extra settings or options and barely manages a 4x digital zoom without blurs. Default audio player is very loud, but low quality compared to other phones in the same segment. Camera is dull and causes the phone to freeze if the surrounding is very bright (!)
Software and speed: The andriod OS is a dated version and the phone is excruciatingly slow. Install a theme and the performance is horrible. I have experienced a whole platoon of bugs with the phone so far:
- Alarm clock works intermittently (!)
- Accelerometer causes screen to freeze with or without themes
- Two songs play simultaneously if an addtional music player is installed (!)
- Photos are blank if the sky / clouds are photographed (!?!)
- Phone cannot be put in silent mode in a single button / shortcut
My conclusion is that either I have a bad piece of hardware or Motorola has released its worst phone ever!

still no justice with my backflip... a week into the process of replacement cuz of manufacturing defect, no screws on the backpannel , screen dangling and the phone just hangs.
i really hated the phone after seeing this and now i hate the service even more.
pray for motorola to survive in India i see no scope this way.

its one week now still havent been able to get my phone replaced every time a new person calls and says we shall get back with u with in 48 hours.
god knows what do they want.
people think a million times before buying this phone..
