Personally I'm using Moto V8/V9/V3maxx/V3maxx imode. My mom (also dad used to( uses nothing but flip phones (currently using W510 & K3), so are my in-laws (W270 & V191), partly due to the open to answer / close to end feature.
However, out of all of the above, only I drive! Let me tell you, trying to open the flip and enter the number while driving isn't exactly easy. Indeed, last nite my wife (using VE66 & iphone) asked me why I kept the flips "open" while driving.
In terms of scratching the screen / keypad, I don't think iphone or all other bar phones are doing / can do any better. Just get a pouch or something.

You don't seem to get the design of this phone, it flips "from the back"
That means when the phone is closed, the kepboard faces "outside" along with the camera...being the exact position as iphone or any other touchscreen device with camera.
How often do you type SMS / browse web and take photo at the same time? Even so, you can close the flip and do that.
