i bought this phone the other day.and i have got to say that it is an excellent phone.for the price and all,you cannot beat the signal strength on it.you crazy ppl never did say nothing about the signal.that's the most important thing on a cell phone.no signal,no blabbering.i was with sprintpcs and had this phone that i bought from walmart.and the durn thing did not give good signal over where i live.i live out in the valley and didnt get good signal with the sprint phone.so if i wanted to talk on the sprint phone i would either have to go outside,or sit right next to a window.and sit there and not move.and that got very aggervating if you know what i mean.and i thought that sprint was being unfair and so i dropped sprint and went to cingular on the go account.and with much phones that i have had over here i can go all through my home with this little booger.it is cute and like that one fellow said it is durable, that is wild buddy, dropping it from 20 ft.?dang, thats cool.i havent had that kind of problem yet, though but pretty dang sure i will someday.but,i really love this phone.and if you want all that fancy ringtones, wallpapers, and all that jazz, than you need to look for another phone.this phone is the bomb!think about it folks, these cell phones are made for calling, not piddling around with.sheesh.a phone is suppose to call your loved ones, friends, etc.if you wanna play little baby games, get you a freaking gameboy and put a sock in it!!!!but moto, thanks for an awsome phone.you will have my blessings with this little phone of yours.keep up the good work, moto!!!!!

Just tried the Crostel.com site that someone recommended for ringtones and it worked for me. I have a Motorola C139 used through TracFone. The ringtone came as a text message so be aware that you will lose minutes by opening it. But it was pretty simple to save it to my phone.

Just wondering does the screen on your C139's go black after about 20 seconds, and then light up when you push a button? Just want to make sure this is normal. Thanks.

what do you expect from a basic phone? if you want all that other stuff get a different phone. this little guy is great for what you pay for. if you're a simple person who just needs it for the phone and texting, then it's a great phone. quit complaining about what it doesn't have. you bought it you knew what you were getting, live with it.

I bought 2 of these phones w/ Net10 service. One for me, and one for my wife. Within 1 month, they have **both** reset themselves back to factory defaults, losing all airtime. It took a few days to get my replacement the 1st time, and I'm going through the same thing again. I think I'm finding out the Nokia is a better choice. If my replacements crap out on me, I'll just have to find new phones.

this phone is very reasonable ,comparing to the 3000.00 phones that breaks with one fall. got one for my husband whose always loosing his phone. also plan to purchase two for my children ,as soon as possible. are they still avaliable right now? never mind the stupid comments some people make they always want to eat their cake and still have it.

I like this phone, not all the bells and whistles. Who needs all that stuff, remember it is only a phone. lol
pros: 1 free with current subscriber
cons: 1 it will not remote start my car
2 it wont open my garage doors
3 it wont change the station on my satellite receiver
4 it wont store 2 hours of video...

all kidding aside great little phone with no flip to break.

This is just a basic phone and it doesn't have any special features. My original cingular phone broke and didn't want to pay a lot for another phone. It was purchased as a go phone but I inserted my own sim card and works very well. Good phone and at a very good price.

I live in Thailand and just purchased one of these as part of the Cingular pre-paid service. To answer your question, no it will not work with any other SIM card. On powering up the phone, it will ask you for "Subsidy Password", which of course Cingular does not tell you.

Also, the frequencies on the North American version of this phone are not very useful in Asia or Europe. As for me, I only needed the SIM card and the C139 is a fairly primitive phone. I am just going to pitch the C139 and use my spare Sony-Ericsson T630 when I am using the Cingular SIM card in the USA.

This phone has a keboard lock and a phone lock and the battary is great! I love this
phone! It has polyphonic ringtones to,I wish it had mp3 ringtones but overall is a great simple phone!

I got this phone yesterday for my b-day and
                              I think it's a wonderful phone! I mean it
doesn't have a camera but it does have polyphonic ringtones that you can download, from the cingular website,it has an
alarm clock. I don't like that it only has two wallpapers though.I have dropped it a couple of times but it still works perfect.
I recommend this phone to someone who doesn't want all that fancy stuff but wants a simple reliable phone.

This phone comes mainly as pre-paid in the US. Has anyone thrown a postpaid SIM in this phone and used it without any problems?? Does the minute bank software from the pre-paid get carried over??? Anyone who can answer, I would appreciate it. I would like it as a spare phone.

I just need a basic phone, but I'd like to know if you can download wallpapers for this one since so many people are complaining about them. Also, can you buy covers to put on it? You can email me the answers, or I have yahoo messenger xoxchelaxox08@yahoo.com

Despite many of the previous comments you really can’t beat this phone for the money. The battery life on this thing is without a doubt reason enough to have it. The high priced phones have a lot of new toys yes, but they can’t compare to the rugged construction and long batter life of this phone. I’m a man. I need a dependable phone that can survive a few drops (mine survived a drop form more than 20 feet....try that with a high price RAZOR or any other flip phone), go 2 or 3 days without charging and, always work when I need it to. AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THIS PHONE DOES FOR ME. Leave the fancy ringtons and wallpapers to the ladies and children. And let the lazy folks who are too out of shape to hold the phone to their ear keep their bluetooth.

After all isn’t the real purpose of a phone to send and receive calls? Why do you need all the silly little ringtones, wallpapers, and bluetooth do that one function? This little $30 phone does that just as well as any $300 RAZOR and will give you more talk time and more standby time because it doesn’t have to give up power to all the little un-necessary and ultimately useless functions of the high priced phones. If you need to mindlessly stroke your ego buy a high priced toy....if you want a smartly priced highly dependable phone.....buy this one.
