gentle men which one is better active or defy+ any please help ?

    Friends, Im planning to buy a Moto defy plus asap unless I find anything strong against it.

    Please suggest me if I have to modify any apps etc., to increase performance.
    Also whether android version upgrade is available for this model?

        I have used the Active and own the Defy Plus and apart from the bigger screen size, I see no other advantages that the Defy Plus has over the active.
        Also the Defy Plus will not be getting an official ICS update, where as the Active will.

            DO any one know about service center fr motorola? i am facing a problem in my handset which i bought 3 weeks ago. when i switch on the phone it shows the moto logo for a minit and vanishes and nothing happens. no screen , plz help me guys

              any one know about motorola service center. i have brought it around 3 weeks ago n his due to some lame error it is not getting started. always the moto logo comes and gets black out after a minit. so plz help me guys

                I own the Moto Defy JCB Edition, and did a factory reset, then the only change I made was not to re register the motoblur and took off the motoblur widgets from the homescreen. The only two apps I have installed is Facebook and Auto Lux from the market.
                For two days now my battery life has increased at least double.
                So ny theory is either you have an app installed that is draining the battery, or Motoblur and it's widget (especialy the social widget) is the cause of the problem.
                In my case by factory reseting and not using the motoblur or it's widget, seems to have solved my issue...so far.

                    motorola defy DOES have text reflow, i dont have this phone yet, but from a research i have done on the net i found that text reflow is supported. here is a link for two of the places who say so (first one has a screenshot and second one explains how to use it)

                      The Defy Plus has a bigger screen size compared to Active. That statement is not incorrect.
                      As far as bugs are concerned :
                      *Defy Plus autobrightness wont dim after the screen has brightened unless you switch the screen off, then back on (this is a software issue and not hardware related as auto lux from the market solves this issue).
                      *When browsing the internet using desktop user agent to allow full web pages, the keyboard's vibration when typing can offten lag. Since disabling the motoblur social widget from the home screen seems to have sorted this out.
                      *The Adobe Flashplayer will not retain it's market update after reeboot of device.

                          Defy+
                          - has a bigger screen (3.7 instead of 3.5)
                          - has much higher resolution (480x854 vs 320x480) and that makes a huge difference to screen quality
                          - has 265dpi vs 192dpi. 192 is quite poor
                          - has a 1700mAh battery vs a 1300mAh battery which is also a huge difference

                          So that is way more than just the size of the screen.

                              WiFi, GPS, a bright screen, a poor signal, un-needed apps left running, active background picture will all drain your battery faster.

                              My suggestion is to run something like widgetsoid and take better control of settings.

                                  Can someone tell me for sure if this Defy + has portuguese software as option? Everybody says no but in fact, in Brazil they have but why not in Europe?

                                    I have my self compared around 8-12 android phones in this range and believe me no other phone is even close to this handset... Till now I have not encountered any problem in this phone. Great job moto......

                                      If you are torn between the two, go for the Active as the Defy Plus has a few annoying bugs.

                                        I am using this phone for 1 month now. I am really happy with the performance just have two complaints.

                                        1. The sound in headphones is not satisfactory even on the highest volume
                                        2. the battery gets drained out in just 1.5 days

                                        Are any of you faceing similar issues?
