100 Moto, 25 Nov 2010In addition to someone who already replied and confirmed th... moreSeems you don't get it. Indeed, this is verizon plan. Buy the phone on their network and if you go abroad, call them for an unlocking code(which means more money, of course).
BUT : This band locking is SOFTWARE, not HARDWARE. Same issue happend on CDMA HTC Touch Pro 2(winmo device, but same block). They managed to bypass the lock, so they will manage to do it with D2G too :). Besides, android allows more things than winmo.On winmo, all they had to do was to reflash the radio(phone) part and it worked. I'm not that into android like i'm on wm(omnia 2 user), but i guess it's similar. Rooting the phone and some other tweaks will make the phone work in US too.
Another thing, on ebay you can already find unlocking codes. 50$, true, expensive, but it's working for the rest of the world.

The CDMA only version is called Droid 2, the GSM version is called Milestone 2, add 2 together and you get Droid 2 Global, get it?

The rest of the world uses 900/1800 gsm bands, so it can be easily unlocked. As we speak on xda forum they are trying for a fix to work on US too. I think i will leave my omnia 2 for this or a defy.

im writing this review caus i found this phone to be a real treat , nom nom nom.
i was with my lovely bf on the weekend just gone and we decided to put it in my ass and call it. but when we got the beauty of a phone up there the slider opened up and i cant get it out.. and the sexy bastard wont stop calling me.. great battery life i must say xx toodles..
