The Droid Razr is NOT a GSM phone. I just came from the local Verizon store and noticed the DEMO unit phone settings does not show any GSM settings so I asked the Sales Rep and he confirmed that the RAZR is NOT a GSM/LTE phone.Becuase of GSM ARENAS bad information I ordered the phone and now I have to return it. GSM ARENA needs to verify facts before posting information on it's site.

Why do the Droid X2 and RAZR on the spec sheet not really look that much different? I have the DX2 (for 5 months) and held a RAZR at Verizon for few minutes...NOT REALLY SEEING ANY MOTIVE to upgrade to a RAZR. Anyone?

This phone has a really cool look and has some real power to back it up, but ...
Motorola seems to have an idiotic policy about locking bootloaders, which drags this beauty down, at least for me.

Motorola calls the 4.3-inch display on the Droid RAZR Super AMOLED Advanced, as opposed to the Super AMOLED Plus screens on the Samsung Galaxy S II line. "Advanced stands" for the extra resolution, as the panel on this phone packs in more pixels (960 x 540) than the Samsung (800 x 480).

When we put the two handsets side by side, the Droid RAZR fit more headlines from The New York Times website on the screen, but the S II delivered a slightly brighter picture when we played The Avengers trailer on YouTube. We also like that Samsung squeezed a larger 4.5-inch display into a design that's nearly as thin, at least for the Sprint and T-Mobile versions of the S II.

Regardless, whether we were enjoying photos, videos, or games, the Droid RAZR's panel delivered high-contrast and rich colors, such as the bold red in Thor's cape. Plus, you get fantastically wide viewing angles. Just keep in mind that this screen isn't as bright as traditional LCDs. We had more trouble making out the dialpad in direct sunlight on this phone than on the Droid Bionic when we held them up together, and the Droid RAZR had more problems with glare.

I got a question for you guys out there... I've seen the comparison of the Samsung SGII and the DROID RAZR in terms of numbers, but I would like to know if anybody can give me any other type of insight into the pros and cons of each phone...

By the way, I live in Canada, if this means anything, in terms of the network I have access to (I think the phones are both on Rogers)

You sign a contract for two years with verizon, for a massive discount on the phone. The contract states that you'll continue to have this phone in service for two years with verizon. if you cancel your contract however, WITHIN those 2yrs, you'll have to pay a heavy fee, a early termination fee.

but as long as you have your phone in service for 2yrs. and pay your monthly fee, everything will be okay, and you'll be one happy customer with Verizon. ESPECIALLY with THIS Phone!
