Actually this phone will use the new x8 processor from motorola which is not a dual-core processor per-say. It works like an octa-core. I am really curious how this phone will work in real life.

Android Man, 26 Jul 2013Nice looking phone well done. But dual core so slow. need q... moreNo it's not slow , actually it's performing faster than any phone on the market when it comes to feel and graphics. It shows 155 fps in GPU 3D Egypt benchmark - record high. It has dual CPU + quad GPU + 1 for processing voice + 1 for sensors. Check out more on their new "computing" technology.

It's a pity that idiots who don't understand phones will always crib and criticize the Droid Ultra's existence.
                  * One of the best looking phones on the market
                  * Does not need 1080p since the pixel density is high enough to not be made out by the human eye
                  * Should look really brilliant since it is a OLED non pentile display
                  * Because it is 720p, it will perform far better
                  * The X8 processor is the most efficient out there allocating different tasks to different cores (I mean there is one core simply dedicated to noise detection, noise cancelation, voice detection and learning your voice)
                  * Because of its unique processor, it does not need to be a quad core several hands on experiences posted on the internet claim that this is one of the smoothest phones out there meaning the end user experience is just the same as a quad core phone and it also had better graphics
                  * Camera and the cam app seem brilliant
                  * Clear pixel means better low light image capturing. its even got quick shutter response
                  * hardly any changes to stock android
This has got to be one of the best phones out this year along with the htc one, the moto x, lg g2 and honami

This is my next phone. 720p AMOLED with no pentile is going to be great. The X8 system sounds great and I just love how thin it is!

                      For those complaining:
FM radio - really? Is this the 90s?
1080p - even screen makers say you can't notice the difference between 720p and 1080p in such a small screen.
battery - 28 hours of mixed use. That's four, yes FOUR more hours of use than the Razr HD even if it has 400mAH less than the previous phone.

My only complaints are no hdmi and no sd card, but I guess those are becoming useless features. :(

In the Zopo C2 Flagship edition you get 1080p IPS screen with Gorilla glass 2, main 13MP and forntfacing 5MP camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage + SD slot and a 1.5 GHz quadcore. All for $322. Good luck using it next to this one though. Even if it's "just" a dualcore with "only" 720p screen and 10MP camera - the Ultra will outperform it on all areas.

Smaller battery, but more power efficient. If you want larger capacity, there's the MAXX version.

Both phones are 720p, but this is not a pentile like last years model was. This is much clearer, and it is retina. Upping to 1080p would not make visible difference, it wuld only drain the battery faster and reduce performance.

The no SD part I agree with. This is definetly Google's fault, as with their Nexus devices. Why they hate SD cards so much - I don't know.

Then you got caught up in cores. Top tip for you: Don't!
Getting caught up in this is a terrible idea. You will only get fooled very easily. This does technically have 4 CPU cores - that all run simultaneously. Two powerful ones to run your applications, and two less powerful ones to focus on different parts of the sensors and stock background apps.
"Monsters" like S4 and Xperia Z are not really monsters. The S4 needs to use a lot of HW to draw a 1080p resolution, and even so it's still a pentile which means it's isn't really 1080p anyways, and it's size is too small for 1080p so all the power is simply wasted. CPU, GPU and battery power.
The Xperia Z has also a wasteful screen resolution, it has real 1080p, but it's also a very bad screen.

Finally, the camera. This does not at all have the smallest sensor. And it features Clear pixel technology originally invented by Kodak. This is a unique way of capturing more light over the same area of a image sensor, giving huge improvements in low-light situations. In addition, each pixel is larger than it's competitors, which also makes for better ISO performance. It's likely the same size as the Sony Honami is rumored to be, the largest of the Androids.

Don't be blinded by the MP count, as higher count does not improve image quality. On small sensors like this, it actually degrades image quality. It's all to do with the size of the image sensor and lens.

Sony Honami will likely be it's only android competitor, but due to not so much larger image sensor than the others and a very MP count, Honami will probably not be as good as the camera in this phone. Not too mention it will not feature Clear pixel. Google/Moto owns this patent now. Honami's only hope is that their G-lens (which isn't great in their cybershot cameras) will significantly outperform the lens of the Ultra. Which I doubt.

FAIL!!!!! I currently own the Razr HD (xt925, International GSM version)and I was so, sooo anxious to upgrade to this! Oh, what a huge dissapointment. My phone (last year´s flagship, LAST YEAR) has a 2500mah battery, this one is smaller by far at 2100. Both phones are 720p, yet the higher ppi of my phone makes me quite sure my screen will look better than this one even if mine is 4.65 and this one 5 inches. This one has 16gb of internal memory just like my phone, yet it lacks an SD slot like mine???? What were this people thinking, was this all just so that google could quietly kill motorola and just come up with their own hardware once they make moto dissapear? and then there´s the topper, the dual core final touch. To compete with monsters like the Galaxy S4 and Xperia Z and LG G2, yeah.... NOT. This so called flagship with its lack of good battery, of adequate internal memory, its lack of 2013 levels of processing power, and finally to top it off the smallest camera sensor of ALL of this year´s crop of flagship models, it´s SURE to flop. I hate how the Galaxy S4 looks, but it doesn´t look like I´ll get much choice, no matter how much I´d wissh it. ;(

kb, 24 Jul 2013A little expensive considering you don't a Quad core CPU or... moreNumber of cores does not decide neither price nor power of a CPU. Get that in your head please. Single cores can easily outperform dual and quad cores.

This has a 5" display, meaning it has 0.4" to go on until it would ever be necessary to up the resolution to full HD. This is retina and it will perform much better and look just as great.

Anyhow, if this was Samsung's design, they would call a a quad-core, just like they call their big.little octa cores. In fact, it would be more correct to call this a quadcore, than calling the big.little octa core, because this has 4 CPU cores (2 mains, 1 contextual and 1 natural language processing core) running at the same time.

More importantly the GPU is based on Adreno, so 320 has been mentioned. This should work really well.
