The phone can only play mpeg4 and 3gp video format so if u convert your mpg to either of these two formats you should have no trouble.

Hi, i've just bought a new E398 recently and i am having difficulty playing a small mpg file which i'd copied to the T-Flash card via the USB cable connection. File was successfully copied and could be seen via my notebook (recognising T-Flash as a removable drive)... but when i went to Media Player and try to play the mpg, it couldn't be found.... can anyone help pls?

hi all,
was just wondering if any of you guys have installed a java application on the E398 that tells you the different time in other countries? if yes, what is the name of the application and where can i get it. thanks in advance.

I flashed my phone to 95r/7f and the improvement is easily noticeable lags less, have USB option (saves time when transferring mp3 ect.) Do not have 96r so I cannot comment on this.

Whats the best Flex for 96R versions? Ive heard that 95R/7F are a good combination.

they should flash green only when u charge the phone! they also flash blue when bluetooth is on.

I just bought 4 E398 phones for myself, my wife and for my brothes a few days back. The most annoying thing about this phone is the screen where it turns very reddish even after I have send it for claims at Motorola Service Center. They Have change my LCD display twice and upgraded my software but the reddish is still there when there is any dark background. When I check with the motorola service center thay say that this particular model E398 has this display diffect where all E398 has the same problem. Is Motorola is going to do something about this major defect problem and replace the LCD screen for all the reddish display effected customers?? Other then that the phone is fantastic.It's like a BOOMBOX with loud tone and bass reflex feelings!!!!!

siemens cx65 or motorola e398?
which phone is better...
my friend have cx65 ..it's very laggy sometimes shuts down... so what about e398?

The lights are those in the side speakers, but they flash green every 5 secs, dunno y, and dont know how to turnt hem off really :) any help?

E398 supports FM radio function contrary to belief, just buy FM headset from Motorola and plug it in ... the UI changes to support FM radio tuning and u can use it as an FM radio.

th sasank. All the phones you named have there pros and cons. Fr me i like the e398 better then the others. And yes you can buy a 128MB trans flash for around U.S. $40.
If you are lookin for more memory dont get the k700i as it only has 41MB and cannot be expand,
