I would take it to a service centre and have it fixed.

to niel: try connecting your phone without the transflash card.
BTW, the phone hase some hidden functions in it. for example, using multimedia themes gives you a screen saver light show. Anyone around who can contribute hidden functions on their phones?

ive upgraded my firmware to 96R and its faster... though everytime i turn on the phone it says.. "Phone Error:Flex Subsidy-Locked" on its greeting, i tried changing it but all i get is the same msg every time i turn it on. wonder whats wrong.. any ideas??

I loaded my software.. have my cable hooked up. But, PC (Pentium II, Windows Second Edition) can't recognize the phone as connected?? Any suggestions or know hows?? Email me if you will! Thanks

If you are going to the service center to upgrade I'm not sure whether you can just ask for which firmware you want.If you are flashing it yourself,go to www.howardforum.com.The people there know alot about the E398 firmware.

So, about the firmwares.. is 95R or 96R better? Coz i have 34R and it lags and im planning an upgrade this week. Comments pls. Tnx!

Motofan I'm not really sure myself about what the 96R do...Did you flash it yourself or did you go to the service center?It could be possible that the 96R file floating around on the internet is an early beta,while the service center uses the final version.I have seen forum members commenting that 96R disables the Transflash card.
Also could you tell me how is it?Thanks!

To mmmwah-between 1-2K..I think.
To me-30 minutes? that's insane...could it be a problem with the K700?...I transfer files over 4MB in less than 10 minutes from another e398 and from a 6230.
To Jon-what type of error happens?
To Dave-as of now, you can only record 20-second long voice clips for MMS.
To Smooth-tha's because this phone is much better than the 6230 and the K700i.
To Dummy-that depends on how you're gonna transfer files...if you use MPT, it will take about 5-7 mins per 4mb...if you use the phone as a flash drive, it will be much, much faster.

For those who have problem with tranfering mp3 into their trans card. I found a cheap better solution. Just download Mobiledit program here. http://www.mobiledit.com/downloads.asp
Install and u can start tranfering into u phone immediately. Make sure that ur phone storage device is set to the Trans card.

to smooth; cuz there isn't much ppl selling their e398 and buyin something else but there is many ppl selling their 6230 and k700 and buying e398. At least that's what i witnessed.

My phone's S/W version is 96R but I'm still able to use the T-Flash card. Yea...

From What I heard 95R seems to be the best,because 96R disables the T-Flash card.Btw,there are 97R and 98R out already,but they still have the T-Flash card disabled if I'm not wrong.

About firmwares (34R,95R,96R) what are its pros and cons? Which is better? Im planning on upgrading my e398 coz the frigin auto clean up doenst work at all.. plus it lags when writing msgs. Btw i have a ver34R. Help people!! Tnx!
