I have the E398 Motorola for about two months and i had small and problems with it (that's because i'm a power user).My last phone was a Nokia 3510i and lasted for about three months and it's software failed.With the motorola e398 i had problems such as:
*it stopped responding after transfering 2 mb video
*it restarted after making a picture
in all minor things
But i must say i like this phone verry much, it sort of fits me.
I have some questions for e398 users if u can help me pls:
*are there availeble software patches for it becase it's SLOWWWWWW, tooo damn slow
*das it hav a incorporated radio, because i found in the setigs menu at lock app, at multimedia "radio"
*are there video and sound recording software availeble

MP3 as RINGTONE.,, get the song,, reduce its bitrate or edit it in order to make it smaller than 2 megas or 1.8megas (sound forge can help). transfer it to your memory chip (TRANS)then turn phone on, select the song (Switch Storage Devices) once you select the song, choose MOVE and move it into internal phone memory (PHONE) once there you can set it as a ringtone.. Enjoy

hmm...of all the phones i've searched, this one stands out from the rest...6230, k700i. i'm now convinced to buy it...*;)

For those who encountered error during MP3 transfer, try to reboot your phone. If symptoms persist, consult w/ other persons....hehehe :D

Maical i use the same method to record voice but i can record voice clips of 10 seconds only can it be because of diffrent s/w

i encounter tis problem recently b4 tat is was all OK
my pc cnanot recognised my phone when i plug it in but b4 tat is was ok n i've use it 4 many times.
i'm using win XP n i understand win XP have some problems of recognising some usb port.
does any1 knows how 2 solve it?

Bought the phone 4 days ago. The speakers are damn good! Way better than the rest. And I ve copied many MP3s into the phone. The PC software is easy..helps a lot when it comes to transfering short files. But i am unable find any wapsites for themes/skins/games(NOTE:Free). Can anyone help??

E398 has voice recorder in MMS, u can record up to a minute and save it in drafts or send it via mms. It doesnt have voice recorder as independent application.
To find bluetooth devies they must be activated, the person u want to send too must send his phone to be discovered. If this isnt the problem, maybe ur phone has a problem.
U can download skins, but i cant point u out to any website, cause i wasnt interested in this. And i have 3 preinstalled...

ellie~ u have to use the stereo headphones provided, not any other kind of headphones. besides, u have to push it all in. then,enjoy d music!:)

I finally have this phone. Its fantastic. Takes a while to get used to (last one was a nokia monochrome). The best ever!

ok i realise this is a dumb question... but i gotta ask. why is it that the ear phones don't work when i plug it in to listen to my mp3's? do i have to activate it or something? pls enlighten mua.. tq~*
