Hi Maical! At least I made u laugh, coz it's good for your health.

However, I already did what you said about the headset options. I set the voice call to "ON" and the autoanswer to "5 sec," but whenever a call comes, I can just hear the caller's voice, but neither of the two mics on the headset and the one on the phone can pick my voice. And whenever I press the silver button to activate voice call, it doesnt work. Any settings I have missed? or my headset is just defective?

Another problem I have encountered is, when I tried to forward one text message, my phone froze! I had to revome the battery to put it back on. I tried doing it (forwarding message) 5x and it did the same. Anyone encountered this?

Hehe.. i finished the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and you're calling me an idiot.. try searching google for "sampling rate" .. that should really enlighten you..
          Max E398 input sample rate = 44kHz
          Max E398 output sample rate = 22kHz ..
Will test it on monday with professional measurement equipment to know for sure.

            22kbps maybe !!! idiot
khz is something else !!! and that's the speakers capability, sounds over 22khz are reproduced by vibration

I played the same mp3 on the phone and on an mp3 player.. it sounded better on the mp3 player.. i converted the mp3 to 22kHz and then it sounded exactly like on the phone.. it's not just my ear.. i asked a couple of persons and they all agreed.. True.. most people won't know the difference when listening to the supplied earphones but some will..

does anyone know how can a MP3 bit rate be reduced from 128kbps to 64kbps...etc? Also, when you bought this fone, what is the default memory card density? thanks!

Thanks to Veejay, Kristy, and friendly moto-rians!
The handset was send to moto service center and I was lucky to be attended by a very attractive female staff. :).. The firmware was upgraded from 34r to 95r.... (it took 3 hours!). At the same time, my headset was magically fixed. She showed me how to "push it in" the headset slot which I thought I did! WOW!!! I never thought my 40x mp3s (@56kb) sounded so good on the headset!
I bought a really great phone!!!!

one Question though... HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EVER TRIED TO CUT AN MP3 SONG USING THE MOBILE PHONE TOOL SW AND TRANSFERRED IT SUCCESSFULLY TO THE PHONE? if yes... can you tell me how you did it or what is the 3rd party apps you used to cut an mp3 for it to become a ringtone.

jojo - for starters i suggest you ask SE service solutions if they will upgrade your phone since you got it from taiwan. i posted their number earlier. look for JON and ask him all the advantages of the new s/w. personally i think the new 93r merely eliminated my music uploading problems. suggest you don't go for the upgrade if you are pleased with the way your unit is performing. as the old adage goes, "don't fix it if it aint broken"...
