Hi, can anyone tell me if the MobilePhoneTools CD works on Virtual PC (Windows 2000)?? I'm having trouble connecting through USB cable... This CD doesn't work on Macs.

Any answer would be much appreciated.

By the way, I LOVE THE Motorola E398... the style, rhythm lights, and the soundz are awesome!!! And everything else too. I wouldn't look at any thing else. It's cheap too compared to the other phones that have heaps of features. And it's also better than the Sony Ericsson K700i... that's my opinion.

Don't forget to answer my question about the PhoneTools CD, thanks ")

        @Vic
I'm a pinoy working in Saudi Arabia and I have this phone. My S/W version is 59R. What have been fixed in the new S/W version 93R? Is the SMS engine faster?

          to all pinoy users:

we can get together at libis where the motorola service center is and compare notes/have coffee while you get your phone's software upgraded to 93r

          just a suggestion...

                trina:
i had that prob too. instead of transferring it straight from mbile exlorer you should go to melody studio, click on the song. select the whole song in the bottom then go to 'save selection as'. then transfer the saved file using mobile explorer. you still get the whole song so i don't know what the diff is but that's all that worked for me.

Thanks everyone for the info on bluetooth. sounds great not that any of my friends have bluetooth phones! ps: do you have to pay to transfer stuff with bluetooth.
Has anyone thought of an answer as to why when i put my message inbox on autocleanup, it still fills and i'm prompted to empty it?
                thanks guys, luv kristy

the bluetooth is a very convenient n reliable way 2 trf yr data one 2 another.
just on yr bluetooth n ask yr fren to search 4 it.
once connected u can trf data 2 each other.
but 1 thing i like about k700 is the bluetooth function is much more powerful than the e398 it can search our phone folder n retrieve watever the user want, ours can't can only wait 4 others 2 send :(
stupid e398 bluetooth ask others to find me n lets other to dig under it

to all of u out there whom may not aware yet
the new s/w R372_G_OE.20.8CR tis is the s/w tat i've upgraded fr previous 34R or something like tat.
tis new s/w will enable yr phone 2b detected as a ext storage memory w/o any use of Mobile Phone Tools n it came wt a mp3 player as well.
it took me an hour 2 upgrade it fr the service ctr. best thing it's FREE!

to all who have difficulty transfering MP3 to yr phone just buy a card reader and transfer all yr song on the trans card with the help of the sd card adapter included with the phone ,its the easyiest and the surest way,but this will only work for audio and not yr videos and wallpapers as they need to be compressed

                            bads,
if you want the features of a smartphone, flexibility in software available, keep your 3660. if you want a great looking & sounding, compact, mp3playing, groundbreaking, earth-shattering phone then get the e398. k700? no expandable memory, forget about IMO.

                            kristy,
bluetooth works kinda like infrared like on a TV remote, but it doesn't require line of sight and has a longer range (30-50ft? not sure)

                            frustrated gal,
i use nokia multimedia converter to convert it to 3gp which works fine. try that out see if you like it.

                            emski,
you could use Mobile Phone Tools from your CD and transfer thru the USB cable or if you have an SD card reader, pop the tiny transflash card into the SD adapter and plug that into the card reader. this is faster when you wanna transfer a lot of larger files.

                              maical,
not all e398's are able to do have the transflash card detected by xp as a removable card out of the box. with an updated firmware version maybe, but not everyone has access to that yet.

All these questions made me dizzy, hehe.
The easiest way to transfer mp3's is to have windows xp which automaticly detects the phones flash card (when u connect the data cable) as a removable card. Just copy and paste... very easy
Thanks for the pics shabbar, didnt got the chance to see them yet, but 1 of these days...
Well, there could be a way to have video recorder, but this can only be made by specialists with the software from another motorola which supports video and has the same hardware at E398..., so answer is still NO video ! hehe
                                    like the phone anyway, entertaining

hey emski you sound like me this time last week. i still have no idea what to do with the transflash adaptor but the memory card just goes in your phone so you can store mp3s or videos on it. to download mp3s.
-download to your computer from net or audio cd (after converting them to mp3s)and save.
                                        -open monile phone tools
                                        -go to melody studio
-click on the my pc tab and look for your mp3 files.
-when you select it a wavey thing comes up along the bottom of the screen
-if you want the whole song, select it all
-then go to save selection as
-then go back to mobile explorer and transfer the mp3 file to your phone

Well thats how i do it i'm not sure if its right but it works for me! good luck. it took me ages to work it out. luv kristy
