i`m realy sorry , i`ll have to ask again,first,under settings there is only "Connections" not "Connection settings" or "USB settings" and under "Connections" there is only Bluetoth and Sync. PLEASE HELP

The DATA/FAX is tucked inside USB menu. Go to settings/connections settings/USB settings and select DATA/FAX mode. Now connect the phone to PC via USB cable and use the phone as a data/fax connection. Mobile Phone Tools (on PC) will recognise this mode.

this phone is the best , but i have a MAJOR problem there is no DATA/FAX under connections menu , i dont know why but can anyone tell me how to upgrade my phone to i398 when there is no DATA/FAX in the menu PLEASEEEEEE HELP ! because i cant go to the internet every day can anyone send me the answer on my e-mail mackoto_sk@yahoo.com

I've been using this phone for like four months. This phone is really good... It has all the things that I want except video recording but overall its a solid phone. I think it's one of the best Motorola phones. Compared to Motorola V290 (that I've used before),Motorola E398 is the best so far. But I must say Motorola V290 has a nice design. With the improved E398,Motorola Hijacked E398 seems cool maybe I'll upgrade to Hijacked. Anyway,E398 is still one of the best so far... If only there video recording for this phone,this phone will be labelled as perfect. =)

Nice phone... I wish to upgrade it to i398 but i wish to know if any disadvantage in doing so...?? I've learnt it makes the phone faster, enables iTunes, video recording... Anything else changes...??

This phone can read all Sundisk Transflash cards up to 512MB. I have 256MB TFlash and use phone like MP3 player and USB-flashdisc device. Also, I'm very excited with the quality of sound and 3D-music it can play. I'm sure, this phone is the best choice for everybody looking for the best formula: quality to price. :)

i just want to watch movie in my e398 fon. is there ANY software (like smartmovie in symbian) that can install to this fon SO I CAN WATCH MOVIE IN FULL SCREEN, THANX

I just bought this phone and I'm very satisfied , so far. Very cool phone. Does any1 know if there is a memory capacity limit (like 128MB, or 256MB or no limit)?. 10x in advance

hi everybody. i've got a couple of questions:1. when i move the cursor in multimedia the icons disappear(but i can still enter the application) and allthough it doesn't affect anything i just want to know if it can be fixed? 2. if i upgrade to i398 can i return to the e398 if i don't like it ? give me a mail if u can help me. pls.

i wish that this phone continous it's journey. this has a lots of version like e398 hijacked, i398, e790 and i wish to have more version of this phone because for me this is the best phone!!!

I have just bought this phone. At first I was a little dissapointed with the phone features as a phone. It is no doubt a great rock box with a phone but I want a phone before I want a rock box. The instructions are very poor. They cover how to use it as a rock box but leave the telephone features for you to work out. There are many menu levels that seem to branch to other menues but the bloody instruction don't include this bit. Very frustrating however I am slowly getting through it. I am satisfied with this product but I suggest that if you want good telephone features then look at another produce. I you want a rock box with a built in phone then get this one.
I notice many people want to flash this phone. If you want the features that flashing offers then look at another product instead. Do yourselves a favor and don't wreck your phones. If it aint what wou want when you buy it then dont buy it. You will only come to grief.

I think this is a very good phone from Motorola, and it got even better when I had it unlocked, allowing me to get off T-Mobile.
This however is where my problems began... I would be very great full if anyone could help. Basically I stuck in an old O2 SIM card of mines and the phone began connecting of it's own accord to GPRS without my knowledge. It's spending my money! It connects at random times and I know this only because it tells me every so often that so many bytes of data has been recieved. Also I get around five texts from O2 in sucession telling me I must have at least 50p to use their GPRS services. Took it into an O2 shop and a guy fiddled around with the browser settings and claimed to have fixed it. The problem still exists. Does anyone know how to stop this problem?
On another less urgent note, could anyone tell me how to get rid of the T-Mobile start -up sequence? It's very irritating, especially the loud T-Mobile tune. Also, is it possible to unlock any locked ringtones or pictures which came pre-installed on the phone?

Thnks Shabbar 4 yr reply, however, yr suggestn was the 1st action I took on realisin this problem. I even removed the battery and inserted it back all to no avail. What I wld like to know is how to get the right software to be loaded on the fon for it to function normally.
