Is it that Motorola gifted it to you in advance, even before it was launched?

I have owned my Edge 30 for just over one year now.
I have owned several different Android phones, from a great many different manufacturers.
The Motorola Edge 30 (UK version), is a very capable and nice looking phone.
On the whole, it works well, however, I do find the fingerprint scanner somewhat temperamental, sometimes it takes several awkward attempts to get it to function, despite having a totally clean screen, no screen protector and clean, dry fingers!
Unfortunately for Motorola though, based purely on my own personal experience of ownership, I will not be choosing any future Motorola devices!
I think we are all fully aware of the importance of keeping your phone in top working order, which should include regularly updating your installed apps, and also keeping the firmware and security patches up to date.
Which is where Motorola is letting their customers down!
Like many others, my phone has been stuck on security patch 1st December 2022 and today is 28 February 2023!
Not only that, but still absolutely no sign or mention of the release of Android 13!
I have contacted Motorola for comment, and received the standard response, 'We do not post dates for the release of software/firmware or security patches, and are currently unable to provide any further information, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause'.
Sorry, but that is unacceptable! Security patches alone are crucial to anyone using a mobile phone and moreover, anyone using their device online!
Not only should security patches be released more regularly than current, but Motorola should be able to provide relevant information attaining to all forthcoming releases, not ignore their customers as they have clearly been doing.
So despite the device itself being, in the most part, excellent and representing good value for money, it is, in my opinion, being severely let down by such poor ongoing support regarding security and firmware versions!

The optical under display fingerprint is somehow slow mainly cuz of unlocking animation, i don't think this is a bug instead this is how Motorola have implemented. Finally of You play a lot you'll ve running out of battery soon, but hey, it charges really fast for a 33w device. Also an external cooler would be helpfull

How much HDR do we really need tho? I'm fine with my redmi pad 450 nits peak brightness with FHD+ content in Netflix, would be cool to have HDR but we're talking about devices around 250-300$ here so I don't get why people complain like it's such a big deal, i mean u wanna watch in a better display go spend more bucks, it's budget section for goodness sake

The camera is not great and that's mostly because of the camera software because it has a capable main sensor Ov50a40.
I have been searching for a perfect gcam for this phone... a lot of them work and produces much better images than the stock camera, but every gcam I tried has one or the feature not working and particularly Astrophotography didn't work on any of them.
Does anybody know which gcam with working Astrophotography on this device?!

I'm using it for more than one month. I will share my review about the set I got.
It's a great device, I got it for INR 22k. The display is really nice, the 144 Hz display is somehow smoother than the 120 Hz display of Samsung. On an average I get 5 hours 45 minutes SoT, that's decent since the 4020 mAh battery is well optimized by the clean stock android. The UI feels like premium, no buggy apps, no bloatware and adware. The speakers are good, they are actually quite loud. Motorola edge 30 uses Micron's new uMCP5 storage, which is actually based on UFS 3.1, so it's kinda blazing. Qualcomm SD 778G+ 5G is doing a great job, I haven't faced any heating issue till date. The cameras are kinda average, the back camera does pretty decent job though, but one thing I have seen, the night camera is great. Front camera is not so good in my opinion though. I have done video recording, and for OIS, it doesn't record any jerking, which is great. The only con I have faced is the proximity sensor issue, I personally don't face it too much since I use bluetooth earphone, but I have done a bit research and found that almost every android phone using Google dialer (Phone) is having this issue, you can install some other dialer from play store and use it as default dialer. I should also mention about the 33W charger, it does a great job, my phone gets charged from 9-10% to 100% in less than 65 minutes. But I am truly disappointed with the OTA updates. My phone still runs the android 12, and also the security patch is from December 2022.
Overall, the phone is great even if you're a heavy user, the only cons being the camera performance and the OTA updates. Otherwise it is a premium midranger phone, and it feels like a flagship phone.

However, you just completely lied again by saying this phone can't reach peak brightness of 1000 nits, cause it can and if you paid closer attention to the specs listed above you can see that it does have HDR10+ certification which can be enjoyed anywhere else except Netflix, you dummy

Hi, my phone's screen doesn't turn off when I'm making phone calls, this causing me all kinds of trouble. All the time either speaker or recording starts when screen touch to the face.
