Finally updated to Android 13 after almost 1 year of its release but security patch is still 1st May. It should have been July 1st patch.

Ibn Batuta, 16 Jul 2023No it didn't get hot on normal use.... Battery life is... moreBattery life is really good. I get SOT of almost 8 to 8.30 hrs everyday but that too on normal usage with auto refresh rate. If you are a gamer you will still get almost 7 hrs of SOT. Considering battery size and software optimization it's one of the best battery life you can get. 125 watt of charging gets you battery from 1% to 100% in less than 35 mins. Last 20% charging get slow to conserve battery health but it charges the phone really fast.

If you have budget to buy Edge 40 pro then go for it or else you can buy Edge 30 ultra. There will be difference in many things like Edge 40 Pro has IP rating and also 8GEN 2 processor. Camera is 50 Mp as compared to 200Mp on Edge 30 ultra. Rest specs are almost similar.

If anyone is thinking of buying this phone then buy from India. It's cheaper here as compared to US. It's 50K INR = 610$ for 12 Gb Ram and 256 GB Rom. Only missing thing I find is they should have given IP 68 certification since it's a flagship phone while the mid ranger Edge 40 is IP 68. I find it unfair because this certification is must for flagships.

dido, 13 Jul 2023Can someone that updated to A13 please tell how is the batt... moreHi all, today I received the update to android 13 on my Moto edge 30 Ultra and all as gone well. The phone is keeping it's charge and no heat issues. At least Motorola as kept its word on the android 13 update.

I purchased this phone primarily because of its security and privacy. Unlike most other China phones made by BBK or Xiaomi, Motorola doesn't collect user data by default. I was surprised when my OnePlus 11 also had enhanced intelligence support turned on by default which is nothing but a means of collecting personal information.

Some missing software enhancements:
- Unlock digital zoom to 200 mpx camera. It is a crime to put a 200 mpx camera, and block the digital zoom. (The galaxy S23 ultra, has the same sensor and has digital zoom activated).
- Selfie camera: The sensor supports recording at 4k x 60 frames, but Motorola blocks a maximum of 30 frames, while the edge 40 pro has the same sensor, but released at 60 frames.
- The automatic and manual focus should be improved, especially more in 4k video at 60 frames.
- The manual focus must be unlocked in the double video and photo camera function.
- release zoom: digital video zoom is limited to 8k and 4k x 60 frames, to 6x
