NOVA-NATION, 18 Aug 2024Is it just 256 GB and 8ram or there is 512 GB and 12 ram? The one launched in Mid-East is 512gb 12gb only.

Is it just 256 GB and 8ram or there is 512 GB and 12 ram?

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2024Only India so farWeird you think India is the only country that has it.
Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Bahrain and Oman have it since 2 weeks. We had launch parties here.

Droid Terminator, 07 Aug 2024Are you normal? This phone is not a normal phone you can us... moreAre you normal? I'm sure the significantly better chipset, USB 3.2 Vs 2.0, update support and cameras outweigh that.

I will stick with my OP 12R.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2024I’ve read a little buggy also, they make ok build but I fee... moreThe false edge touch issues with the curved displays were solved a couple of years back, as far as I know. They haven't been an issue since the Edge 40.

However, yes. I understand the hate for curved displays. I hate them a lot myself.

Also, let's be real here: The Moto G34 is a far better secondary device than this one. I mean... It costs less than half as much as this and gets you far better bang for the buck. This device is good as a secondary only for a globetrotter who wants that wide frequency support.

Not great at offering updates.. Motorola is more for that spare handset. Also curved screen what on earth? We are all flat screen now , those days of hitting edge and apps opening pass.

Military grade phone with curved screen??? Can only imagine alot of screen replacements if using this as such without case.

So... Some reviews are already out. It seems this phone does most things right. But it does have a couple of issues.

Build quality is outstanding, display is great and gets quite bright, it also has a good anti-flicker mode that doesn't affect colour accuracy, sound quality from the speakers is great and they get quite loud, performance in day-to-day usage is great and far better optimized than the Galaxy M55 with the same SOC, the main camera and selfie camera are very good (including at night) but the ultrawide is just okay, it has wi-fi 6 and should maintain a usable connection out to good distances from the router, 4G/5G signal reception is seemingly excellent.

No word yet on GPS performance (is probably good enough) and what the PWM frequency of the display is.

However, now we get to the two issues:

The device does indeed get hot and throttles itself by 23-30% under load. The battery back-up is not bad, but can't be called good either. It is just so-so. In fact, it gives one hour less screen on time than the Galaxy M55/F55 with the same SOC (6 hours vs 7 hours). At least the 68 Watt charging can top it up in 50 minutes (10-100%) and you have wireless charging (which is unheard of at this price point in India).

Personally, I would also count the curved display as a negative. It makes little sense for a smartphone with supposed military standard durability to have such a display.
