Importing it would cost me 562 eur.

700 Euro is daytime robbery. That's almost the price of iPhone or S24 for a midranger.
Sony did this too with their price. Now they're barely a name in the smartphone business.

Fa14bi, 16 Apr 2024well, it's 5% faster than UFS 3.1 on average so what&#... moreWhat's the matter? Well, I'll tell you what, a couple of things actually. One of which I've already mentioned, which is the spec sheet, and UFS 2.2 looks worse on it than UFS 3.1, simple as that, which means less sales, they are shooting themselves in the foot for extra money, and it's sad because this is otherwise a great phone.
The second reason is why I hate this even more. They could've just used UFS 3.1 and spent less time and money on it, while making it faster than usual UFS 3.1 is in other phones, for an actual advantage, and they could've even claimed that their UFS 3.1 storage is faster than what other phones have. At this price point there is no point in claiming or being happy about UFS 2.2 that's faster than UFS 3.1, when some phones at this price have UFS 4.0, not to mention last year's Pro model, or the 2 year old Edge 30 Ultra that are both better phones than this, both are still available, one of which is far cheaper than this is, the other is a tiny bit more expensive.
Edge 50 Pro - 709 eur
Edge 40 Pro - 759 eur (Brand new, sealed.)
Edge 30 Ultra - 506 eur (Brand new, sealed.)
(Edge 50 Ultra - 910 eur, and this isn't just a much better phone than the Edge 50 Pro, it's also better value somehow.)
In no way does it make sense to pay 203 eur more for 256gb extra storage, IP68 rating, while downgrading nearly everything else, and it makes even less sense to "save" 50 eur and get a significantly worse phone, than the PREDECESSOR of said phone.
Don't get me wrong, because I know I sound like a Motorola hater, but I actually love Motorola, and I want them to succeed, but this isn't how to do it. I was excited for the Edge 50 series, but I was so disappointed that I ended up buying an Edge 30 Ultra and I'm happy with both the phone, and my decision.

you can be mad at the strange decisions motorola made in the edge series this year, but the edge 50 pro is mostly the successor to the vanilla edge 40..
