On a separate note, have the camera issues (heating during camera use, glitches while shooting, etc.) been sorted with the recent software update on the Edge 50 Ultra?

Little word of caution for those visiting the comments: 95% of people who comment don't actually own the device, so don't trust their inputs.in those 95%, 80% have never used a Motorola before, and last many of the remaining are paid by other brands to go on various forum and diss certain products. Hence you have people here talking about IPhone, Samsung,. While this is a Motorola forum. The job is actually a real one and people are payed based on the number of comments they post on various platforms.... Just read the descriptions, do your research online, and buy your phone for what you need it for

Pricing on this phone is ridiculous. It is 20% more expensive than the s24 ultra (and even the s23) while having subpar specs for a suposedely 1000usd flagship. Capped 8s gen 3 with downgraded gpu is the biggest offense.
Zoom camera seems good on paper but motorola image processing manages to be worse than samsung giving very smudged murky jpegs without being "natural". The macro and selfie sensor on paper seem to be ridiculously small. Smaller than a quater inch diagonally. Also only 3 major upgrades is painful.
I'd forgive all that simply for the fact that this phone is a 6.7incher at sub 200g with no stupid glass back. I'd forgive all the disadvantages just for that.... if it wasnt 1000 usd. Sorry, I went with last year s23 for less than half its price.

Software support don´t now about Honor, but the Moto leaves a lot to be desired (being nice)

For everything elese probably equal.
But as someone who has the Edge 50U
The phone does switch lenses in third Party Apps while using the camera.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2024How about battery standy time ? how about heating and day t... moreBattery life is reliable with with my use, lasting a full work day and well into the night and part of next day if light to moderate use. It charges so quickly, it is a non issue to me.
Heating is not bad, gets slightly warm with some games and camera use but that is about it. Only actually gets hot if heavy use and in warmer ambient temp or while fast charging which is pretty normal.

Isn't it funny that the "Ultra" and "Pro" don't get the 5 year OS updates promise, similar to the Neo?

Motorola Edge 50 ultra is a good look and performance mobile. I brought last June end of month. Within 1 month after the security update my mobile now it's like a dead condition. I check with service center. They said they can do only replace the motherboard.They can't replace my mobile. Actually i don't want repair my mobile. Maybe tomorrow i need to sell my mobile i can't do that properly .Because mobile IMEI and box IMEI difference .Who will buy this repaired mobile. Seriously i am fed-up and really sad with my new mobile. Now i feel i am wasted my 55000 INR. My all trust is gone about Motorola. I have a request the people who will thinking about buying a new Motorola mobile just think properly 1000 times. Then only you can buy. I will accept for the repair if it's my fault. But Its happened only for after Motorola security update. This problem came within one month. That was i am really sad and fed up. I used my mobile very little and my all data gone. if it's happened after one year i can understand . But ...... Actually i am planning to buy Samsung S23 ultra mobile. Suddenly my mind change to Motorola. My friends told me don't buy Motorola. Because of their customer service not good. But i didn't care my friends words. Now i am suffering . So whoever see my this message just share with their friends also think about 1000 times buying a new Motorola. Check the all comments from people experience . My mobile is now like a blood witness. Performance and look everything is nice. Only the issue service & customer service . Very bad . This is my first and last experience from Motorola. I never recommend to anyone Motorola. Why we wasting our valuable money.Now I wonder if this is the kind of response that premium mobiles get, what will happen to the average mobile phone owner?
