i bought this phone because it's not normal for me to see people using motorola,, nokia is just mainstream,,4 of my friends have the same model and i find that so boring,, anyway, the memory card slot is not "under" the SIM card slot. in fact, it is "above" the SIM card slot. you don't have to scroll thru the whole contacts list, u can type their names. the cracking thing, i don't know, haven't experienced anything drastic yet,, the key tones, u can of course modify that,, the first time i used this phone, it was kinda frustrating finding the settings for the keypad tones, but hey, that's what manuals are for. the auto clean up is after five days,, i think that's the default,, i am using the phone memory for messages and i have a hundred, on both inbox and outbox and no problems still, i also recorded sounds and can use them both as ring tones and message alert tones,,
i don't know about other people but as of now i can't find anything wrong with my phone,,
im glad i bought it,, i dont have to walk on the street and seei many people having the same phone model as mine, it makes me feel so unique!, lolz!

I bought this phone 2nd hand online. Had problems accessing the apps (it said that the phone was connected to the PC when it clearly wasn't), but I ignored them. Then I experienced the White Screen of Death. Sent it for (expensive) repairs and it worked like a charm - until the White Screen of Death reappeared. Sometimes, the screen goes black after awhile and no amount of pressing on the buttons will get back the display. I've resorted to turning the phone off and on just to check for messages.
I loved how slim and great it looked, but appearance is secondary when you need functionality! I'm staying away from Motorola for good.

Hi there, the front cover cracking is a common fault with this phone - i too had the front screen crack (right across camera) and i managed to get a dummy model of this phone and replace the front screen myself - there are pockets under the screen though, so if you do remove the screen, do so carefully :P

This phone is probably the best phone I have ever had. I went from seimens, philips, nokia, o2, etc. so far for the first 4 months it has been with me the only comment I could give is that it has a slow capability in internet browsing via data cable to PC, as it speaks for itself in 33-48kbps GPRS specification. the rest is awesome. I really hope that there would be an upcoming version with 3g capabilities. Using motorola phone tools I could do everything from syncronizing, input mp3, download and upload pictures, browse the internet through my pc, etc. This phone is worth the bucks. Before I bought it though, I had screen and front protectors installed. and I dropped it so many times now but still no cracks and breaks. The sound in really unbelievable for a phone this size. Definitely topnotched!

The first month I had this phone I loved it. I got it in September for my birthday. Now, 5 months later in February, I hate it. I hated it within like 2 months. There's a lot of stuff that's really frustrating and stupid about it. First of all, you can only store 30 incoming messages, at least with AT&T, idk about other servers - this may just be an AT&T problem. But lots of other AT&T phones can store like 500 messages. Also, you can't put a picture on the front screen like you can with RAZR's. You can do this with the KRZR's that have the MP3 player on the front, but not with the ones that don't. Also, if you have a memory card, you can't just set ringtones directly from the card, you have to copy or move them to the phone to set them. Which stinks, because the phone only has like 20 MB of memory. So you have to get a memory card if you want to have anything on your phone. Also, it doesn't alphabetize your pictures and ringtones like a lot of others phones do. The camera's not that great either. A bit of a shutter lag. And if you have a lot of songs and pictures it takes forever to access them - it wont just go directly to them, you have to wait and wait. It scratches really easy, too, so if you drop your phone a lot like I do, this is bad. And oh, text messaging is horrible. The keys are so loud, and its really hard to text because it's a square phone. In fact, my keypad popped out and broke in half within like 3 months, which makes it even harder to text. Im not Motorola bashing or anything - in fact Motorola used to be all I would buy. The RAZR's cool, and a lot of older Motorola phones were really great in their day. But if you're a big texter and like things to work fast, this phone is not for you. I'm seriously thinking of getting a Samsung A737. Anybody have any comments about those?
