The KrZr is cute and sexy and it works well as a phone. Everything else is a mess. I replaced a Nokia 6236 with the KRZR and boy do I miss the Nokia. The KRZR has no countdown timer (it was great for taking care of parking meters), the contact list is brain damaged (no personal data linked to the calendar, no way to get rid or change speed dials), the text input default is Abc (you have to scroll past Spanish intelligent text to get to English), the calendar is such a clunk I don't know where to start (brain dead repeats, no biweekly, no birthdays, no move/copy, and the reminder alarm is the dumbest ever to set up). Talking on the phone is great. Trying to use it to help organize your life is dumber than a box of rocks.

i hate this phone so much, the first month after i bought it the screen just randomly cracked, i hadn't dropped it or anything, then after about 6 months of having it the speaker is blown out.. so if i talk on speaker phone, i cant understand anything. oh and also, my battery wont last 5 minutes if i'm talking to anyone. it sucks. don't waste your money

It's available in Gold now. Blue is cheaper though. Also Red and Silver. Gold is really a stunner.

Gee, forget about the features. Use the phone as a phone already. It's the perfect size, no other phone is as comfortable. It fits just right around the face as only clamshells can. This is the type of phone that makes you look and feel good in public. These are the selling points, anything else is extra.
            The review is accurate.

              Hi there,

Pretty interested in buying this. Just a few questions, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

              1) How many sms messages can you store? Is it like say 300 inbox, 300 outbox etc etc? Because on my old phone (Moto V1050) I could only store 130 messages total (inbox and outbox) and that was annoying.

              2) Whats the battery life like? I dont tend to ring anyone, and I really only use a phone to txt someone, the rest of the time its in standby mode.

              3) Is it easy to txt on? Are the buttons hard and do they make a clicky noise? Or nice and easy to press, and does it lag on screen or letters appear very fast?

              Thanks so MUCH!!!

What I have found. Phone is great for everything I do. but.... Text messaging really, really.... blows. How could they produce a phone so nice and oversight this? As for now the phone looks and works fine.. but whoever cleared this phone for sale should be fired.... Just not right...... Motorola, ..... Wake up.........

i am really planning to buy this phone but havin a hard time doin so because of the negative comments ive just read from this comment box. but please, i really do hope that someone would answer thse questions:
                    1. if you are a fast sms typer, will it take you too long before you complete your message? because on moto w220 it is so effin slow! i type so fast and it buffers so much since the key are slow on typing the words.

                    2. is it true, that when you want to browse your contacts you cannot do so by simply typing a couple of letters to go directly to your desired contact?

                    3. and when you delete a message, example you have 100 stored message and the mesg you want to delete is on #26, will it go back from the top message?

                    thanks..

Geting your k1 to work with the computer so you can put mp3 ringtones, photos etc on your phone or vice versa heres how you do it. If u have a memory card for your k1 you need a usb cable the kind u use with a digital camera nothing special, now u will need the driver I will attach site to end of this post.now on your phone in settings\ connect \usb settings\ change from data transfer to memory card. Ok install driver plug in and go if you dont have a memory card you will have to download the latest motorola phone tools to connect I think its 4.0 or over for this phone. The Driver sites are: http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/Motorola.html or http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/au/support/driversNplugins.asp?country=aus&language=ena

I dislike this phone a lot. i am a die hard nokia fan. and i switched to motorola krzr k1 as its hard to find a nokia model i like with my service provider... this k1 is frustrating having to always scroll thru my contacts to get to a name, it doesnt have a short cut by typing a few letters of a name. my text msgs have disappeared and i didnt even have 40 accumulated, nor did i use the option to auto clean up. my keys tone turns on and off whenever it wants to. the personalized ring tones i have set for people change on their own as well. i never know what to expect from this phone anymore. one thing i know, next time i will be returning to my nokia phones. this k1 has a few other quirks i cant stand. only had it 1mth and i already hate the thing.

I am trying to set my sound recording as a ring tone. I don't seem to find an option to do that. My son has a RAZR and we can set his up that way because on his when you record sounds, it goes directly to the list of ringtones ont the phone and you can set it as the default. However on my krzr, when you record a sound it goes to "my sounds". There are a couple of options when you bring up the sound recording but it doesn't have one to put it as a ring tone. Any help? Don't know if it matters that it's through Verizon.

I just got the KRZR for 3 months and no problem with it so far. It has been very reliable but the camera has some work to be done. But overall it's a good phone for the average Joe.

iv'e only been using my k1 for about 4months and it's ok so far. im not experiencing any of the problems that i'm reading about here, it doesnt freeze up or anything. if your phone freezes up it's probably because ur internal memory is almost full that's why it's advisable to store all your big files like music or videos in the memory card. i upgraded mine to 1Gig. and regarding the problem with being able to use mp3s as your ringtone you just need to change that through settings then ringstyles then details. you dont need to transfer it to your phone memory, even if your mp3s are saved in the memory card you can still use it as a ringtone. the only thing that i dont like about it is im not able to create folders for messages that i want to save separately, probably because im used to being able to do that through my nokia phone that i had before. oh yeah and battery time gets used up easily when i listen to music. but all in all it's pretty good and looks nice too.

I do not recommend this phone. It's crap, if you're someone who texts a lot, like myself. This phone does not live up to texting. Hard to text cos of small buttons.
