You can Root milestone with 2 option:
1) android 2.1
use "Universal Androot" think can download from Market
2) android 2.2.1
use "Super One Click" search from the web
After root, you can:
1) delete system app
2) overclock cpu speed
3) remove sms limit (android default; 60 sms send per hour)
4) can install many useful app that only support root device

Try to add calendar's as a widget,it will show u calendar over there and then u can add those as a widget and if it does not,try with Factory Data Reset,then.

Guys,There is no sluggishness and all,the updated OS is just fine and very good,The only thing one needs to do after the update is "Master Reset" your cellphone and re-download all the apps that u use,then only you will be able to use the cellphone to the fullest.....Ah,make sure you backup all the necessary data before master reset...

Motorola should come out with an update now to over come this problem of slowing down the system after the froyo 2.2 update.

I update 2.2 and my moto input method can not use.
and also multitouch keyboard, input languages no chinese
dictionary available .
mostly dictionary avalable are europe .
I update under singapore .

Not too sure the update is a good idea. THe phone becomes 25% slower than eariler and the 4 buttons on the touch screen menu dont work that well to touch.
The only good thing is the 3G hotspot software and the tranfer of software to SD card. THe message keyboard has changed (I seriously prefer the previous layout) 1 addition is the voice recognition. You can talk the message instead of typing. Not sure how usefull this would be. THe voice recognition does work pretty well.
Apart from 3G and SD card option, this update is not recommended as it slows down the phone.

hi all....just got updated to froyo on milestone...works great...the wifi hotspot and other feaatures r fine...benefits u heard from many...now the actual thing is that system gets slow at times...main problem is with camera capabilities which were gud enough in eclair but now with froyo update I had seen that camera and camcorder are much below the acceptable level...the clearity of 5 megapixel now seems to be of a camera less than 0.5 megapixel....sum up I experienced slow operation of apps at some times...mobile get heated up...and camera clearity is lost for now till motorola come up with update for the same...motorola people pls take not n do something to address the issues with froyo....

need to download UPDATER from motorola, plug phone to windows XP computers. then follow the steps.
please dont use 7, got problem.
I downloaded it, overall its nice. but my wifi and bluetooth still not working zzz
I tot 2.2 got wifi tether? where is it? zzz

So apparently everyones got 2.2. Im in South Africa and still OTA and PC suite says no update.
Is there any other way of downloading the 2.2 ROM from some site or somewhere??

jonathan, 16 Mar 2011How come i can't find the update? it is saying that there i... moreU need to connect it to the PC and update it....I did just now :)....Yes,it also supports flash 10.1.the best part is the touchscreen is much more responsive compared to 2.1 and display has become,bit more crispier...these are the other two bonuses apart from the features mentioned under Froyo features,If ppl are sayin it Lags,but I dont see any such thing frequently,but it tends to heat alot copared to 2.1
