it says an update package is available and its required that i download it for best perfomance
size is 32MB....downloading it now.....
am from india......any body got the same message???
i know froyo will come only in september....then what is this???

hi...atlast i baught the milestone...its rocking good...thnx for all ur help
how do u turn of edge?i used edge for some downloading.but i couldnt turn it off....
and the "E" symbol was there for the whole day..and it drained the battery even when i didn use internet or any downloads....
can u name a few apps which can conserve the battery???and a few tips also if i need to change any settings to get a better battery life

Tistdrive, 16 Aug 2010I've had the milestone for 3 months now, it truly is a bril... moreI've been using Milestone since Feb and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Recently somebody introduced an app which contains ALL of my favorite radio stations in Hong Kong, along many good ones from Taiwan. So I consider radio is now available on my Milestone.
Agree the internal memory is too little for the power of Android. Waiting for Froyo update which may solve the problem. If that day comes, no doubt I would rush out to get a 16GB or even 32GB memory card.
As for my 8GB memory card which came with the phone, I have faced absolutely NO problem. No auto restart issue either, though the salesperson did recommend me to turn off the phone and restart at least once a week, and yes, I didn't even install Task Killer until recently, as it was working fine without it.

I've had the milestone for 3 months now, it truly is a brilliant gadget, but it has some problems:
- The internal memory is far to small for an android phone
- The SD card broke after 2 months, but only in the milestone it didn't work, in other devices it worked fine
- Crashes ones or twice a week
- Worst of all: not very likely to be updated to 2.2 FroYo (except for the american Droid, it already has FroYo)
The rest of the phone is absolutely perfect
It's fast, pretty, everything (except the just mentioned stuff)
Works brilliantly, The screen is very though (I accidently dropped it onto asphalt, still no scratches, buttons very responsive, camera is truly amazing.
I'd say a very good phone if you are prepared to spend some time on it
I'd give it a 9.0, it's only a FroYo, 890Mb and 400Mhz away from a 10.0

To be honest, the keyboard on Milestone isn't as good as that of Dext/Cliq, but that's the trade-off for being "thin", and if you can't live with it, then don't get it.
Most Milestone users I know initially worried about the comfortness of the keyboard, though in the end most say they all got used to it after using it for a while.

milestone is 165g and heavier than most handsets & querty phones.has the weight been a problem?the letters on the keyboard are quite close & not sufficient spacing.do u use onboard keyboard more & is it better & more user friendly than external querty
