M, 01 Nov 2010Froyo is under testing for the original Milestone and Motor... moreDear M,
I don't know which planet you've been on but there was a facebook page demanding Moto update the Milestone with Froyo. I had, (and still have unfortunately due to ridicolous resale value) a Milestone and am know using a HTC Desire as I had enough of random restarts in the middle of calls and just plain finicky nonsense of the Milestone. Moto is not any good at updating their products like HTC and Samsung. HTC the fastest and most committed so far to consumers. Samsung at least has committed to ensuring the Galaxy S gets Froyo and hopefully Gingerbread too. Please research more before u decide to heap praises on Moto for such a device.

So much fun.
Also, the phone isn't any thicker than other so the keyboard is no draw-back like that and pricewise it's great value.

dr.sriram, 01 Nov 2010i've used motorola's milestone earlier when it was launched... more1) Signal suddenly dropping should not happen and could be cause by a malfunction in the phones antenna or a problem with your carriers signal (such a problem could have been temporary)
2)Calls breaking up seems highly connected to your problem mentioned in part one and is not the normal way for this phone to work.
3) With weak signals, the phones antenna has to work harder and use more power. This as well seems to be connected to the signal problem you had on your phone.
It's very important to contact support when you experience a problem like mentioned, as it perhaps could have been fixed and it would have worked as well as it's supposed to.

Cav, 31 Oct 2010After what I've been through with Milestone I don't think I... moreFroyo is under testing for the original Milestone and Motorola have posted this with information of when it wil be launched approximately.
I am very satisfied with my Milestone and compared to other Android devices I think Motorola has done a very good job with offering upgrades. The competitors like HTC, Sony, Samsung etc have not been very good at offering updates at all.

i've used motorola's milestone earlier when it was launched. within a week, i changed to samsung galaxy s and no complaints thereafter. problems with the earlier version of milestone are:
1) signal suddenly drops
2)most of the time the opponent cant hear your voice, it always breaks up.
3) really heats up your ear even after a normal 10minutes talk.
hope, milestone 2 would have rectified those problems. anywayz, i won't be going for moto in the near future for sure.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2010Wonder why majority of Moto phones do not have video ca... moreMotorola released its first (3G) phone with video call capability as early as 2004 with its A920/A925. Then later with the A835.
Hence Moto "had been" offering phones with video call feature, but over the years, most people seldom use it. (as in public places, chances are one has to wear a bluetooth, otherwise the conversation may "bother" other people)
Then certain fruity company started the hype about video call. Which for some reason, (American) people start to realize such 6 years old technology being important.

If Speaker is the same one in the Original MileStone (its wasn't in the list of the upgraded hardware) , that means its really good
i've MileStone & the Speaker quality is very good (I don't know about Sony Ericsson newer phones , the last SE i had is W910i)
The Battery life is good in the MileStone , but with the upgraded 1 GHz CPU i think it might be different
My MileStone doesn't over heat when i use it allot (calls , Wi-Fi & Music)
The physical keypad isn't big deal ,(i picked MileStone over XT720 because of the keypad) now I've the MileStone for over 3 month now & i used the physical keyboard 3 times only to show it off , other than that I use Swype , much faster

After what I've been through with Milestone I don't think I will go for this one. Wrongly advertised flash capable, lack of updates and how long do we need to wait for the Froyo which they promised?

my milestone 1 is still stuck with 2.1, unlike the droids, 2.2 upgrade for milestone is still "under evaluation", and so I'm getting rid of it. I am pretty sure just like milestone 1, milestone 2 will also be "under evaluation" on the next android update. I think the keyboard is just as pathetic as milestone1's. at 600mhz milestone1 gets unbearably hot after 5 minutes of phone call, I wonder how hot milestone2 be at 1ghz.
